This is so ridiculous. He has played 4 full seasons of college football at Texas, graduated, entered the draft, signed FA contracts with two different NFL teams and now has been granted a TRO to play college football again?
What are we even doing at this point?

The NCAA is powerless to promulgate rules about eligibility or player compensation.
No matter what they do, a court somewhere will issue a restraining order, injunction etc.
Eligibility, pay are totally out of the hands of the NCAA and any rule that they issue can be considered non-binding and worthless as a piece of used toilet paper.

I don’t think he should be able to come back.
FYI: He’s most likely not going to start. He was the weakest link on the Oline last year. You guys should hope he is playing on our OL again this year.

This is the NCAAs fault for announcing their 5 to play 5 rule when they did and not making it retroactive. Why should a 2026 senior get a 5th year in 2027 but a 2025 senior doesn’t get one in 2026?
If this is announced in February he probably never enters the draft. Classic NCAA being their own worst enemy.
This is completely different than the pavia/Chambliss extra eligibility lawsuits. All these issues will resolve themselves by next year regardless. Because no one else is being denied the 5th year option.

I wouldn't bet on it. Somebody will still challenge the age limits, or say they were hurt for part of two seasons, etc. And some local judge will issue an injunction in mid-summer and away we go. Some way or another, Congress will have to pass laws and even that may not work. The judiciary branch has decided they run the country.
