Milroe didn’t respond well to sharing reps with Buchner and Simpson at practice during the week. He was suspended for the USF game...as Saban said after the game, “It was an internal thing.” The offense turned in a lifeless, pathetic performance, but the more likely explanation for the poor play is simply that it was a letdown game in a weird environment, and the best option at qb was unavailable. If Milroe comes off the bench in the 2nd quarter, which was probably the plan before Milroe was suspended, Bama likely wins that game by 4 touchdowns and nobody cares.

The offensive line struggles with pass blocking; that is obvious. The good news is that Milroe is the best option to cover that weakness. I predict that you will see something closer to a Jalen Hurts-styled 2017 offense from here on out, even though that was not Saban’s original desire.

That said, I’m as big a Bama homer as anyone, but I have absolutely no confidence in this team or the offensive coaching staff. It is like nothing I’ve seen at Alabama since the Dubose Era. I have no idea what happens from here on out.

I find this hard to believe considering how it could impact these kid’s futures but…during the game, there was a replay and I told my wife, it looked like that OL ignored that defender on purpose…now I’m reading this…I’m going to re-watch the game because now I’m curious.

Actually, it just seems Alabama is mediocre this year. And judging from the other games so is UTrans

are you always so negative in real life?
surely, there is more to life than that

you literally never say anything positive about anyone or anything.. even you’re own team

whatever is troubling you..
I hope it gets better. Life is too short.

That’s cope after giving up 5 sacks and 8 TFL’s to a team you were favored to beat by 34 points.

"Medicore"? Hasn't bama had the top 1-2 recruiting classes in the past 4-5 years? Many of those 5 stars being OL? One of the many things Saban is famous for is developing players. Which is why so many of bama's former players are now playing in the NFL. So....what / who is the problem now?

This is stupid.

I'm highly dubious as well, but are we really comparing Texas' DL and South Florida's??

Apparently. Bama just looks kind of bad this year.

That mammoth OL Tide was bragging about pre-season has turned out to just be a bunch of fatasses.

Upheaval on the Bama football team eh?

Good, good. I hope it turns into complete mayhem and hate among the players.

However, this looks more like bullshite because their blocking was just as bad with Milroe.

Agree. These guys are playing to go to the NFL and huge bucks. They aren't going to purposely mess up their chances to be drafted.

I don’t doubt Milroe being suspended. Greg McElroy said the same thing on his show in Birmingham this morning. Milroe didn’t respond well. Saban sat him because of it.

He didn't respond well to them not starting him this week?

So they were gonna start Buchner and maybe give Simpson a shot as well?

I guess he may have gotten into the game at some point.

Reading between the lines Milton was suspended and the team(notably the OL) allowed USF to to have multiple free shots at the QBs. I haven't seen the game, but there was a lot of talk immediately after the game on boards about offensive lineman completely whiffing to the point it was noticeable.

That's not what he implied at all. He talked about a lack of effort and that the players may have been unhappy Milroe was benched. That's a big difference from purposely missing blocks to let defenders get a shot at the QB.
