Such a weak draft this year. Was he not projected to be drafted?

Unless you’re a defensive monster with amazing quickness and a 3 ball, there’s not a place for 6’10 bruisers in the paint anymore in the NBA. He’s a great college player, but won’t be much at all in the NBA. Not surprised he’s coming back with NIL

I’ll never understand NBA scouting. I mean, they get it right more than not but guys like Broome seem like a sure thing.

State had a player, Timmy Bowers, that looked & played like an NBA player for 2 seasons. Never sniffed the league. Then guys like Alex Caruso have 10 year careers

Probably a late 1st or 2nd

Thought he had a chance to play his way into the 1st this year, and honestly thought he might have.

What does he still need to work on, lateral quickness and shooting?

Also, does anyone know his injury status there at the end of the season?

Add a couple of nice new pieces, bring in a sports psychologist to prevent another collapse, and we're a contender again.

The 3 who collapsed hardest in that game are gone thankfully.

Who is left to run with him? CBM coming back?

Pearl needs to get a good PG.

This past weekend, the Auburn basketball program picked up a major player through the transfer portal. Former Furman guard JP Pegues committed to the Tigers on Friday after three seasons with the Paladins, and this past season he averaged 18.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists.

“JP is a winner,” Pearl said, per AL.com. “He is a scoring point guard that has great ability to shoot the basketball. He can score at all three levels, defend and lead. Talking to several great coaches in the SoCon, they unanimously believed he was the best player in their league this season.”

Timmy Bowers was a great player. Him & Zimmerman were a heck of a backcourt at State.

Maybe he’ll get a shot at the Elite 32 or Final 16 next year. I applaud him for his efforts in coming back and trying to reach unattainable goals.

Meanwhile, most bama players are already in the portal and Oats desperately trying to land an AU backup…

Yeah, Oats just can’t compete with the juggernaut that is AU basketball. His 3 2nd weekends and 1 3rd weekend of NCAAT just doesn’t hold a candle to AU’s 0 2nd weekends in the past 5 years.

I’m sure he’s reciprocating the fear AU fans have when posting about daddy Oats and is just shaking in his boots about what AU’s doing with their roster construction to prepare for next year’s 1st weekend of NCAAT.

The guy started 26 games for yall last year. And what makes you think Oats is desperate for him?

In addition to Pegues from Furman, Auburn signed a 5 Star Guard Tahaad Pettiford.

I would also guess that AU will grab another guard from the portal.

I see you still haven't got this portal thing figured out yet. BAMA has the #3 recruiting class coming in. They have 2 transfers coming in and many trying to get here. Including the barner guard. and Sears and Grant are still testing the NBA waters.
