I think it’s obvious Mateer was betting on sports but as long as he wasn’t using inside info or something I don’t care and think he should play. Doubt they’ll be able to prove it regardless.
Also, Sooner fans are blaming Texas for putting this out there but I’ve seen a few Michigan fans on twitter claiming credit. Connor Stalions strikes again?

I think it is all fake……but they are alleging he bet with a friend when he was 18 back at WSU and did NOT bet on his own team…..since it was not with a a casino or sports book it seems rather benign…

The big thing here is that they have to prove there was actually gambling going on. I’m not going to say he did or he didn’t because I didn’t know who the kid was until OU started recruiting him from the portal.
TBH, though, I don’t see the NCAA being able to prove he bet on games unless they can find some accounts of his on one or more of the betting sites.
Either way, putting something as stupid as sports betting in a public Venmo comment ranks up pretty high on the dumb scale.

OU's biggest problem that they will never overcome is they are coached by Vennables.
Like being coached by Jeremy Pruitt.
Great coordinators but average head coaches.
Will they win a game they shouldn't, yes, but not enough to ever be a serious contender if they ever make the CFP during his tenure.
