Been watching some games with MS State QB from 1980-1983 & the team as a whole. I really liked that QB guy far more than in any other in state history. A Georgia boy who came to State to play and with two guys I went to school with, Kent Hull & Maury Hull. Kent Hull who went on to the big time with the Buffalo Bills during their AFC reign champions but never winning the Super Bowl. I'm Ole Miss through & through but I still like MS State. Would like to think the two would combine and make Mizippi much more relevant as this state is just way over-matched in relation to population to have 3 major Colleges.

Isn’t he the guy who had the goods on Cam Newton?

Allegedly.

He might have claimed it but didn't produce it.

I still have nightmares about that guy. I think the Dawgs beat us four years in a row with that guy at quarterback.

John Bond was part of the Valdosta 3. VHS in succession produced Belue, Bond and Lastinger and I think state titles for all and maybe none ever lost a game in high school but not sure.
Bond was an unconventional wishbone guy at 6-4 but was amoung the best that ever ran it.

John Bond still owns the biggest win in Bulldog football history, 6-3 in Jackson. BAMA had a 28-game winning streak going in, was ranked number one, and had won the last 2 National Championships.
