The stats show that we have the better coach. Why would I be worried?

Not really. The stats show that Jimbo did well at Florida state but BK has been significantly better at ND than Jimbo has at aTm.

And how many Division, Conference and playoff appearances did that win lead to?

What was Jimbos final record that year?

What happened when you played an LSU team with less than 50 scholarship players coached by Ed Orgeron that same season?

Downvoted for sloppy, incorrect statistics and then asserting the data as facts.

Here is one glaring discrepancy:

quote:

Percentage of Seasons with 10+ wins: (Div I FBS) Jimbo .500 (6/12) – Brian .474 (9/19)

Two major problems. First, you have Brian Kelly at 9/19. He’s only coached 18 full seasons in FBS, so you’ve irresponsibly included 2006 Cincinnati. So, it’s 9/18 tied at .500.

Next, while not as glaring, you’ve ignored the 12-0 season of 2012. Despite the NCAA decision, it’s almost always standard practice to include wins in coaching performance evaluation. The only time I’ve seen it argued against is when blatant cheating/negligence where the coach is implicated.

In this case, the correct statistic would be:

quote:

Percentage of Seasons with 10+ wins: (Div I FBS) Jimbo .500 (6/12) – Brian .556 (10/18)

Then you are even dumber than your other posts would indicate.

What is interesting is that all these "facts" for Jimbo were mostly accumulated someplace other than aTm ...

That being said Jimbo has accomplished more in his short time at A&M than Kelly did at ND

I didn't realize Jimbo has taken A&M to the playoffs. Kelly also had a higher winning percentage at Notre Dame than Jimbo at A&M. And he beat Wake Forest.

Not sure why this is a debate. One is NC winning coach and the other has consistently lost on the biggest stage.

He lost to teams with superior talent. Wake me up when Jimbo wins his division at A&M.

He will play multiple teams each year in the SEC with more talent.

Kelly made it to the CFP twice at ND and the NCG once. Jimbo has not made it out of the SECW yet...

Oh, and Kelly won his conference every year at ND... haha

You keep repeating this but only Bama and Georgia generally finish higher in recruiting and LSU is consistently around the top five nationally.

Additionally , I believe The Aggies have finished ahead of LSU only a couple of times since recruiting services began ranking classes.

Moreover, you’re living in bubble if you believe A&M is the only school utilizing NIL. Congrats on your head start but all programs are now getting in the game.

Lastly, are you including Texas A&M as one of the teams with more talent? If so, that speaks volumes for your coach who seems to constantly lose to inferior teams including LSU 2021 who was barely able to field a team.

Just going to ignore the fact that we are historically the way more superior program? We can have an ape coach and still own you over time. Not because we’re so amazing just because you’re A&M.

Over the last 20 years when you’ve had your best 2 decades in a row, yeah. Before that LSU football was not superior to A&M. College football is cyclical and you’re just as likely to have a decade of 7-5 as you are 10-2.
