Florida State’s APR of 936 is the lowest of any football program in the FBS.

The APR -- Academic Progress Rate -- is essentially a measurement used by the NCAA to determine how athletic programs are performing in the classroom, and penalties such as practice restriction, scholarship reduction and championship bans can be enforced if an APR is too low. FSU’s APR has dipped in recent years, and the latest information released for the 2017-18 academic year points to problems for FSU.

For comparison, the average APR among FBS football programs is 968.

The declining in-class performance was a problem towards the end of the Jimbo Fisher era, with academic casualties occurring frequently. This aspect is believed to have improved under coach Willie Taggart, but it’s difficult to totally gauge progress until an entire academic year is calculated while under his watch. One source with direct knowledge of FSU's academic issues recently told Noles247 that the football program was limited in letting problematic players go this past year because it could have further jeopardized the already low APR.

Woof Jimbo. Not good!

I didn't read anything you posted, but Jimbo's wife was getting BBC and he couldn't take it anymore, so he left town.

As do I.

I had a class with Markus Manson when I was in HS. He was a four star RB who ended up signing with Florida. He did a book report on Forrest Gump where he gave the plot line to the movie, said "I would recommend it to others," and sat down.

He ended up passing that class.

It showed on field also. Literally the dumbest bunch on a football field I have ever seen.

Wow.

Not good.

Jimbo’s fig — Financial Acceleration Grade — nearly tripled when he went to A&M. They’re paying him big bucks while he sits back and ruins lives!

I wish the athletic directors that pass out these outrageous contracts like they're no big deal would consider the kids. It's disgraceful.

Jimbo mailing it in at FSU was pretty evident.

Now he has $67.5M reasons to not mail it in or wait, he still gets that regardless, nevermind

I agree! AD’s should look at who is a good person, not a good coach. I give Alabama grief, but I was very proud of Byrne when he hired Oats. He’s a really good person.

#SEC.

Which is why A&M is the perfect school for him. There is no danger of a young heterosexual male stealing his wife away.

Bunch of ungrateful bastards in Tally. They wouldn't let Bowden finish out his last year.

Time to let go of the "student athlete" myth. Jimbo is paid to win football games and the roster is there to make that possible.
