The problem with this is that none of his assistants have ever beaten him

It holds true for non-assistants as well. Basically it is the life cycle of an SEC coach. Unless they are Chad Morrisian in their ability level in which case they just flail about haplessly.

If we went back 45 years ago we'd be calling this the Bryant rule, though he did lose to some of his assistants.

Pretty much my thoughts. At the end of the day you want your players pumped up and your fanbase believing in the program.

You just don't want to say stuff like "Alabama you're next."

A cautionary tale indeed.

The fastest way to lose to Saban and Alabama is to talk shite. The best way to beat Alabama is to be quietly confident and come into the game making no noise. Try to catch Alabama asleep. Good teams don’t have to announce they are going to beat another teams arse.

BINGO!!!! Saban might SAY that he doesn't listen to any chatter/smack talk etc. but that's just coach speak.. He knows that he's probably the most influential voice in CFB and he doesn't want to give the media any type of bulletin board material... That said, if anyone believes that he doesn't take note when people, ESPECIALLY other coaches talk shite, I invite you to go watch the Michigan game from the year prior and his response to RTWFU... Best to STFU when playing him, and let it play out in the field. Smack talking only makes him wanna beat your arse even more..

Ed O did the same thing and Bammers have cried real tears over it every day for the last 18 months.

It's different though. What this is was a little smack talk between brothers and good friends, which is completely normal. A&M and Bama are both storied programs that respect each other, as do Saban and Fisher.

What happened with LSU and Ogeron was nasty and said in contempt and hatred and it was said by a stupid person who sounds ignorant when he speaks and is known to be violent.

It's two totally different scenarios.

Do us all a favor...take down your first post and go away. Also, never come back. We've exceeded our Gump numbers for the year.

I can see it now. It's going to be a corn-dog expedition with LSU's savior, Orgeron, overlooking the flight to ensure their safety.

Corndogs In Space!

It's a big deal that Jimbo has enough confidence to say that...In fact, he has to in order to maintain his recruiting momentum. He continues to stack classes, starting with his second year on campus. Will be interesting with his current recruiting effort if he is able to assemble his highest ranked class yet....certainly off to a quicker start than the last 2!

Given that A&M has never beaten Bama since arriving in the SEC, I guess it's ok to dream.
