The new word out of Bright is there actually is a real battle taking place. With a new QB preparing to start, you want the rookie to have as many reps as possible
Comfirmed: the 2 qbs continue to rotate through with the 1's.

So...Mr.ColoradoAg, please stop perpetuating the Tarpley / Passwater novel which resurrects Manziel and afford Fisher to do his thing...and perhaps as a true Ag. Support both of these QBs as they push each other to help our team move into the CFP and ultimately to a Natl Championship!
Have heard through others in the south that players like KOJO (not from TX) have paid attention to how A&M fans (and writers from Texags, 247 and Rivals) have favored TX players in head to head battles on the 2 deep. That's a real issue. We need players outside of TX of we want the best and our fans need to embrace the best. AL had always embraced the best as has Ohio State. We need the knucklehead writers I reference above to stop trying to wl their TX way on to the starting lineup and support everyone in pursuit of an aggie championship..seriously. Just left a HS event in FL where this was openly discussed about Aggie players not from TX...and why would their players want to have their own fans cheer against them... can't blame these recruits from GA, FL. Al, TN and elsewhere.....just saying it will take one than lonestar state recruits to get the job done!

A bit presumptive re: King Mr. CoAg.....just saying. Lets not pull a Rivals: Mark GASWATERS / Texags: Billy LUCIFER / 247: Tarply "I wish I could sing like John Denver".....and try to instill our will on the offense. You're defending Fisher's offense....so let's defend it. Means possession ball while seeking the threat to push downhill when the defense bites.....He's looking for that weapon to sling the rock. Depends on the other positions around the QB and how to best achieve his objective.

Any word with the ongoing battle? Social media accounts are relatively silent. Feel like looking for evidence as to who is winning the locker room. Love the back and forth here between ColoradoAg and Calzada supporters. Still feels like the press is pushing its agenda on Jimbo vs. Jimbo playing out his cards (again, take note from the Kellen v Nick selection process).
It's a big deal that Jimbo has enough confidence to say that...In fact, he has to in order to maintain his recruiting momentum. He continues to stack classes, starting with his second year on campus. Will be interesting with his current recruiting effort if he is able to assemble his highest ranked class yet....certainly off to a quicker start than the last 2!
CGSC LOBO....not sure about the direct commentary on Calzada. I do believe you saw King with a PIC (actually TWO...but hey, who's arguing with the on-field ref...who did not employ use of instant replay where the defender brought the ball down inbounds)... Just saying. If you're going to attack one...then don't let the LOBO in your name keep you from attacking the former LOBO.....is what it is...
Krampus...disagree on QB question for A&M.
1. Fisher set up 1s v. 2s(3s,4s AND 5s - TE was walkon no. 5; one of the linemen was pulled onto field from cafeteria 3 weeks ago..sizeable but not even a W/O a month ago)
2. Fisher was pushing downfield passing schemes to work on offense ability to react to defensive schemes...that's three reads..the OL, WR/RB and QB...all having to be in synch.
3. Both Calzada and King continue to need work but note:
a. King had the 1s line against 2's D; some good decisions...some NOT; 3 sacks (Fisher preaches do not take the sack). No ability to really run..showed some nice zip when needed. Wanted to see more step up into pocket.
b. Calzada ran with the lesser crew. I noted approx over 1/2 of his incompletes were throw aways OR what some deemed as bad passes (thrown to window away from Defender - see note below)..to keep ball out of harms way. Yes, he made a poor throw end of 1st half to keep ball to outside shoulder of receiver and out of Demani's hands)
Note Calzada's receivers were younger and showed decent hands. Rexamine the film, and you will see King's receivers, 1's, making space with many passes to open areas (not all, but again, noting the "space").
I thought it was telling how Calzada had more movement with the 1's noting, he really only had Anias with the 1's when he rotated in.

I see the QB race much tighter, but subject to the TX in-sate favoritism we have grown accustomed to....not our most admirable trait for recruiting out of state talent.... It is telling that Fisher has a GOOD situation on his hands and will use it to his advantage as we shore up the OL and increase our WR rotation. Now, in live situations add our RB strength and bring on the competition!
Heard anything more on Calzada or King injury during spring game?
