Their team got quit on and abandoned last year and had to settle for a downgrade for a coach. They probably aren't the most enthusiastic bunch these days. If Taggard has any coaching ability he'll get them going in the right direction until recruiting falls off over the next couple years. Their O-line needs immediate attention though.

Jimbo left the O line in poor shape but the rest of the team is very very talented
Zero reason for them to be playing like this, but Taggert isn't a good coach and he doesn't even have a winning record as HC.
Jimbo and FSU were divorced before the season even started last season, there was a lot of conflict internally. Then they replace Jimbo with Taggert

He got blown out by Boston College last year 30-3 on his way to 5-6. A few years back 63-7 or something like that vs Louisville. Neither school recruits anywhere near like FSU does. Fisher destroyed FSU. Taggart is probably not a great coach but he inherited crap.
Truth is Fisher didn't do much without the crab stealing rapist. At least no one will frick his wife in College Station.

Jimbo and FSU were not on the same page at all.
Neither FSU's AD nor LSU's seems to be committed to success. They both are bargain dollar store shoppers expecting unreasonable quality out of the shite they are buying (not buying).
LSU didn't hire Jimbo because LSU's AD is just like FSU's.
