I hope, for A&M's sake, that part of the deal was cutting ties with the majority of his rotten carcass staff from FSU.

Quite a bit. He's had as many NFL players at each level of the defense the last 2-3 years as almost anyone in America and they've been anywhere from abysmal to above average.

Maybe it's just an FSU thing. They stuck with Mickey Andrews for years after it was obvious that the game had passed him by

Coach Andrews was my DC at Livingston in 1968. He is a great guy.

I heard Chip Kelly is going to be his OC and Gruden was coming to be his DC.

He has had talent on his defenses the past 2 years that is comparable to LSU, yet he hasn’t been able to field an above average defense. He also was absolutely torched by Louisville the last two years, and LSU easily shut them down. He is not very good at game planning nor in game adjustments.
