Same here it’s Mack Brown. Remove one final play with Vince Young uterus never wins their one title in 200 years.

Jimbo and Mack are very similar when it comes to their coaching career.

Jimbo wasn't winning all those games with mirrors. But he got fat and sassy when he had a lot to prove in College Station. That will hurt with elite programs, not so much at the Arkansas and Miss States of the world.

That's even true at aggy, if success is how much money you got paid.

Most coaches not named Nick Saban take the foot off the gas the second they get paid.

LSU is going to be the next one. Expectations are high, fanbase is restless, but you have already paid the man 70 million or so over the next 7 years whether he coaches or not.

Would you care if you were the coach on the hot seat? My punishment is to get paid 10 million a year to play golf and travel?

These contracts are terrible business decisions.

You have to pay to play with successful coaches. They simply have all the cards. TAMU had no business stretching out an extension to 10 years. Anyone who feels compelled to hand out that kind of investment is playing with fire. The average lifespan of a college football coach in America is just under 4 years.

What's with the Texas teams spending all that money and winning jack squat? It still doesn't make sense.

Now we have SMU doing it again, too.

Texas Tech as well. Just think, every time you're dropping $60 (or more) at the gas pump, a healthy percentage of that is eventually going to football players at the Texas schools.

These coaches are a different breed. I don't think I'd ever do another stressful thing in my life if I had tens of millions of dollars in the bank.

No doubt. Live wherever you want on the planet, and the moment it gets below 50 degrees, go spend the next six months on a tropical island.

I wish I could remember the FSU fan on here that warned A&M posters what Jimno would bring.

Good teams with inexplicable losses and wins that maybe shouldn’t have come. And worst of all - very poor offensive line development

That poster was a damned soothsayer.

My guess is meddling boosters, the same thing that kept Alabama from winning more titles than they had, until Saban showed up.

Same problem we've had at AU forever.

Jimbo got paid $77.6 million to coach 5 years at A&M, that's twice what his salary was when he signed the contract. Seems pretty successful to me
