Jimbo's contract has no offset clause.

lol of course it doesn’t.. completely idiotic contract

either way, Jimbo is gonna get paid
the buyout is only what it will take to hire a coach for that 8 year period

I’ll do it for $12.5k a win.

Good to see Drink on the list.

After Saturday you won’t get odds like that. Get those bets in now.

They’ll fire him this year if he continues down this path. Much to the gnashing of teeth on this board.

This is a list for people that don't understand financial implications of him being fired. He could go winless and might survive. The buyout is huge....even for A&M.

This post is chock full or irony. TAMU literally signed Jimbo to a contract based on what: a national championship based out of the ACC followed by an embarrassing playoff appearance and ??? Yet, the “money” at TAMU is okay with the contract originally signed.

TAMU fans please spare us with financial responsibility. You idiots will do whatever it takes to prove you aren’t little brother to Texas.

What's great is, this isn't the original contract.

The original 10 year/$75M contract had no buyout clause and was fully guaranteed. So if someone (like say LSU) had an opening that made Jimbo leave, LSU would owe A&M nothing.

And because there was that potential, Texas A&M had to give Jimbo an even more outrageously coach friendly contract. And why did A&M think Jimbo was such a hot coaching commodity? Because of 2020* where 2 of the 9 wins were against teams that finished ranked (FL- 12/13, UNC - 17/18) and they finished 2nd in the divison.

If Jimbo was still on that original contract, he'd only be owed $30M after this season. But instead, A&M is looking at close to $80M owed with no offset clause.

I'll give A&M credit; they somehow out retarded their original Jimbo contract with his new one, which is pretty impressive.

So their options are fire Jimbo and hire some high school head coach for 200,000 a year? ??

I think they are hoping for a Mel Tucker/Jeremy Pruitt event so they can fire with cause.

They are stuck with him for the next two seasons. They have 2 sure wins left on the schedule, and 4 should wins. Plus you know Jimbo has Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, or Ole Miss circled for that yearly game where he has installed a completely different offense and he pulls a shocker (if his team doesn't quit on him).

That gets them to 8-4, and Aggies are completely content with that.

Yep just look at the ~ $25 million LSU paid out to Big-O, coords and senior staff contracts. Then they pulled the trigger on $100 million for "I didn't say we were going to the heck out of FSU".

He beat Bama’s a$$ and won the west in his first year. Big Bama got beat AT HOME by Texas and is on the decline.

Jimbo is 1-7 in his last 8 P5 games

How in the hell did that one win come against the SEC West Division champs?

He should be 0-8!

There’s only been a handful of coaches in the SEC fired in year 2.

Chad morris was the last one

Because Sunbelt Billy has not matured enough to be allowed to be fired.

If I was a gambler I’d bet on Holgerson. He’s gone 4-8, 3-5, 12-2, 8-5 and is currently 1-1 for a total record of 28-21. Houston only beat UTSA 17-14 to start the year and then turned around and lost in 2OT to Rice 43-41. His remaining schedule is TCU, Sam Houston, at Texas Tech, West Virginia, Texas, at Kansas State, at Baylor, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State, at UCF. Sam Houston is likely the only game they’ll be favored in the rest of the way and even they might pose some problems as they been surprisingly solid on defense (though fairly horrid on offense).

kelly has already accomplished more in 1 year than jimbo has in 5, friend. let's think before we type. i know the loss is wearing on you guys it'll be alright.

Jimbo is overrated as frick but if there is one coach nipping at his heels for most overrated coach in CFB it might be Kelly. 20 years and not 1 trophy of any significance.

Nah. They will win the next game in a blowout and Milroe will look good and the Bama fans will be back full force about how they are the Goat. They will be claiming Texas is the number 2 team in the nation behind only them.
