And Ole Miss still lost that game. I'd rather the players hate his guts but be so afraid of him that they perform in fear of otherwise losing their job and/or their scholarship (see Saban, Nick).

Here's a theory that might make y'all feel better about the hire. O went Fight Club in his interview. Started punching himself, throwing himself against tables and bookcases and Alleva's desk, all the while telling Alleva to just hire him and he'll leave the office. Alleva starts dialing for security when O shouts, "Whah?!? Whah ya bea'ing me instead jus' give me job?" Alleva freaks out and hires O on the spot.
Now doesn't that make more sense than the "O showed Alleva some binders and convinced him the past never existed" explanation?

Eh. There's a certain percentage of every fanbase here that consists of bitches who grow angry and weepy at every joke or post that they can construe as being even the slightest bit less-than-absolutely-reverent. They're the emotional blowup dolls of the Internet. That's why downvotes aren't worth caring about here. If you could guarantee every person voting was intelligent and mature, that'd be different. They're not, so ignore those numbers. LSU just has a much larger fanbase here than the others, so they tend to get more of this sort. Most of them are just normal sports fans like the rest of us.
Edit: downvotes already. QED. And still don't even get why they're not as mighty as their ability to downvote makes them feel.
