Well, yes, easily.

Unfortunately, Alabama has more pieces than a below average passer. The QB can run, and they have a lot of superior athletes that benefit from a very good offensive line.

Personally, I would stack the box against Jalen Hurts and take away the run. Play press man on the outside, and have everyone within 10 yards of the LOS. Spy him every chance you get with one of your best athletes.

Obviously Nick Saban would counter this and still kick my team’s arse, so yeah.

How is this possible?

He doesn't have that many completions and I can think of plenty of those that were 10+ yards down the field.

It's funny to me how narratives get started and people just assume certain things. I hear so much criticism of Hurts and how he is struggling. I also keep hearing the praises of Nick Fitzgerald and how well he is doing, yet if you look at the stats Jalen is at worst even with Nick from a stats perspective and in my opinion is out performing him.

Of all of Bama's national title winning QB's of the past 30 years, only AJ McCarron had what one would consider A grade QB'ing skills.

We don't need A grade QB play to win titles. That's not the type of system we've traditionally run.

Blake Sims came close to winning a national title at Bama and he was a freaking RB playing under center.

Teams that need their QB to throw from 300+ yards and 3+ TD's to win the game usually end up losing a ton of games.

Bench McElroy just assumes that since he can throw for 400+ yards and 5 TDs on JV mode in NCAA Football, these Bama QBs can do it in real life.

i kept saying it that Jalen would take a step back this year. It sounds racist but it's actually very common for black QBs for whatever reason. I think it has to do with expectations.

And the guy who would've started if we benched McElroy won 2. It's legit difficult to say bench was wrong then... or now.
