Nah, he's a bammer, like myself. Though we lost Gump Nation membership a long time ago. And with the playoffs coming, a lot of new posters have been gumpin'it up.

He's right up there with Buck Belue and Randy Campbell in job description. ---don't fumble, get the ball in the hands of #2, and get the frick out of the way.

so him being better than Brandon Harris makes Coker good? No a very high bar you're setting for Coker

Let's not make Jake out to be anything other than average and we will all be better for it. He has heart, and a strong determination. That's all I need.

Agreed. He may be the most improved player on the team. He's nothing special but right now he can drive the bus like we need him to.

Without Henry, Bama loses about 4 games. Thats why Henry was Heisman. Coker is extreme average and hasn't been required to win a single game. His running ability is his best attribute. Kiffen deserves credit for what he's done with that.

I guess you didn't watch the end of the Bama/UT game. Plus, he had a nice second half against your squad.

Coker is a warrior that lacks experience. Too bad he's a 5th year senior. I'd like to see him as a 2nd year SEC starting QB.

Coker's got the tools. With another year, he could have been a top-notch QB. He was just so damned inconsistent this year. He had some really good series and some head-shaking ones.

turned out to be a fine QB. There was a time when I had my doubts. But, he proved me wrong.

You are right, several of his big throws were great catches and he should have released it earlier. Ridley against Florida is a Prime example. No secondary has matched him step for step, but when the ball is late there is nothing you can do.
It's almost like he doesn't trust his receiver to make the cuts, or he doesn't trust himself to know where the receiver is going. His indecision often causes him to eat the football instead of breaking the pocket or just throwing the ball away....gotta be frustrating to Kiffin and Saban....it damn sure is to me.

I'm just gonna leave this here. Without Henry Bama is in the Texas Bowl or some other insignificant bowl. Joker is slightly above average looking way up at Allen, Kelly, and Prescott.

Put either of the three listed on Bama and they're undefeated with or without Henry.

B Harris is not even at Kokers level, so LSU shouldn't be in this discussion any way.

Coker has limited awareness. When he's under pressure, he can't feel it, and often runs toward defenders. He does have a knack for those bubbling, stumbling, runs though. His brain and body are not many times on the same page. He's thinking about throwing it when he should be throwing it. He has a rocket arm but poor touch and accuracy on intermediate and deep throws. Poor at reading defenses and looks primary receiver down, usually ending up either with an incompletion, interception, or check down out the backfield. He is by far the worst qb of the saban era.
