He must have made an impression on Joe Brady when Joe Brady was on the Saints staff in a supporting role. It’s extremely possible that Pete did a good job in assisting with the game planning.

I do recall that in 2012 when Payton was suspended Pete was the OC and the offense was actually quite good. Drew Brees of course makes people better.

LSU’s offensive line in 2025 was historically bad. They were at times manhandled by teams like Southeastern, WK and even NSU. SEC teams ate LSU QBs.

Those players may have been rated higher coming in but they were apparently “ruined” by the soft culture. LSU couldn’t get a yard from the one yard line so many times it’s amazing.
