This is exactly why I have a problem with the polls.
We're told every week that strength of schedule matters, but apparently it only matters when it's convenient.
A team can navigate a brutal SEC schedule, lose twice against quality competition, and get punished, while another team piles up wins against weaker opponents and gets rewarded for having fewer losses.
I'm not arguing that every two-loss SEC team deserves a higher ranking than Wake Forest, Utah, Notre Dame, or Ohio State. I'm arguing that we need to look beyond the win-loss column.
Who did you beat? Who did you lose to? Where were those games played? How difficult was the entire schedule?
If we're going to reward teams for winning, we damn well better consider who they had to beat to get those wins.
Otherwise, we're not ranking the best teams in college football. We're ranking the teams that did the best job avoiding the toughest competition.

Georgia has played 1 ranked team in Alabama. You also lost against an unranked team. Your resume is barely top10 because you've played one of the weakest schedules in the SEC.
This is true. UGA has played a bunch of nobodies, barely more than mediocre Georgia High school teams. Nobody on UGAs schedule could beat a good Georgia high school team. If UGA turns the ball over like they did against the best team they’ve played, Auburn, UGA can be beat by anyone. UGA tried to turn the ball over against the 4th or 5th team they’ve played, Alabama, but Alabama wasn’t good enough to recover one of 4 fumbles. Auburn is by far the best team UGA has played, the rest of the schedule has been shite if we are being honest.

Schedule strength is in comparison to other teams schedules. And it's only in comparison to other teams.
Alabama had the #2 schedule going into this weekend. Georgia was 28th, which is still above most big10 teams, but below most SEC teams.
Nothing to get butt hurt about. I'd much rather have an easier schedule and 1 less loss these days.

Says the unthoughtful guy whose team has a favorable schedule. Let it play out. You’ll see.

Let’s face the cold hard truth:
Yeah, UGa lost a HOME game to Auburn. That is indeed a cold hard truth.
You were an egregious missed pass interference call from losing to Bama.
