You keep repeating "two ranked teams" like that's the only thing that determines strength of schedule.

That's not how it works. Strength of schedule measures the difficulty of the entire schedule, not just how many ranked opponents you can count on your fingers.

And yes, Kentucky played Youngstown State. Congratulations on discovering that SEC teams schedule FCS opponents. I'm sure Texas has never benefited from playing an overmatched opponent.

Nobody is arguing Ohio State isn't a quality opponent. But playing Ohio State doesn't magically make every other game on Texas's schedule tougher.

You've now posted the same argument multiple times, and somehow you still haven't figured out the difference between strength of schedule and counting ranked teams.

For someone so obsessed with Kentucky's education, you're having a hell of a time passing basic football math.

That much I agree. This shouldn't be sec vs sec. Every other conference hides and plays nobodies to pad their W-L record

You mean like Texas did before joining the SEC?

Funny how quickly some Texas fans forget their own conference history now that they've got an SEC patch on their jerseys.

You spent years looking down on this conference, and now you're using its strength to justify your record.

The SEC didn't suddenly become the toughest conference when Texas joined. Texas just finally joined the conference it spent years pretending it was better than.

Didn't move a single goalposts but you can keep playing mental Gymnnastics if you want to.

I dont think you have a top 10 schedule and I think your current record is a product of that. You have overachiever and I am rooting for you. Great coach and a good team. If you think your team is the best in the sec I'm disagreeing. No one plays all 15 other teams so we will
Never know. The FACTS is you have played 2 ranked teams thus far. Which is a lot more than the trash most other ranked teams have played. I just dont think it’s a top 5 schedule.

And everyone has money and recruiting resources

Now we're getting somewhere. You went from saying Kentucky hasn't played a difficult schedule to acknowledging we've played more ranked opponents than most ranked teams.

And nobody said Kentucky was unquestionably the best team in the SEC. That's an argument you're having with yourself.

My argument has been pretty simple. Judge teams by the quality of their opponents, where they've played, and what they've accomplished. Not the logo on their helmet.

You say Kentucky doesn't have a top 10 schedule. Fine. Which strength-of-schedule metric are you using? Because simply counting ranked opponents isn't one.

And yes, everyone has recruiting resources. But pretending Kentucky and Texas operate with comparable financial and recruiting advantages is laughable.

I'll give you credit for acknowledging Kentucky has a good coach and a good team. That's a much more reasonable position than where you started.

But here's the difference between an opinion and an argument. You keep telling me what you think Kentucky's schedule is worth. I'm asking you to show me the numbers.

You brought the confidence. Now bring the evidence.

The sec basically took the 2 best teams from the big 12 making it a shell of itself
And making the sec even more difficult. College realignment made the conferences more unbalanced. Old big 12 with Nebraska and Colorado was pretty good.

Never once attacked your education and there's many different metrics you can use to determine SOS.

I 100% agree with you it important to judge who you played, where, how healthy the team was, and the quality of opponent.

I agree that realignment has made the conferences more unbalanced, and adding Texas and Oklahoma certainly strengthened the SEC.

But let's not pretend the Big 12 collapsed overnight when those two left. Nebraska, Colorado, Missouri, and Texas A&M had already departed years earlier.

And here's what I find hilarious about Texas fans. For years, you defended your Big 12 accomplishments. Now that you've joined the SEC, suddenly conference strength is everything.

The SEC was winning national championships while Texas was still trying to convince everyone the Big 12 was just as tough.

Texas didn't make the SEC relevant. The SEC gave Texas a bigger stage. And judging by some of your fans, you've already confused getting invited to the party with being the reason everyone showed up.

Fair enough. I wasn't suggesting you attacked my education, and I agree there are several legitimate ways to measure strength of schedule.

And it sounds like we agree on the bigger point. Who you played, where you played them, the opponent's condition, and how you performed should all factor into evaluating a team.

We disagree on Kentucky's schedule. You don't believe it's top 10, and I believe the available metrics make a pretty strong case otherwise.

But here's what I find interesting. We're debating whether Kentucky deserves its ranking based on actual results, which is exactly how college football should work.

I'll take that over being handed respect in August because of what a program accomplished twenty years ago.

Texas big12 accomplishments was when the conference actually was a good conference. We sucked for a decade after those teams left.

NIL and transfer portal also has further allowed teams with resources and athletic departments who care to invest more, look at Kentucky right now.

Where did I ever say “Kentucky doesn't deserve its ranking?” I never said that.

My beef is with other conference teams playing nobodies and having SOS in the 60+ and ranked top 10. I was wrong to put Kentucky had a weak sos, should have said its not top 5-10 but honestly Its light years ahead of the rest

That's actually a fair point, and I agree. NIL and the transfer portal have changed the landscape. Programs that are willing to invest and adapt have opportunities they didn't have before.

Kentucky is a perfect example.

But I think you're also making part of my argument for me. If Kentucky is investing, recruiting, developing talent, and beating quality opponents, when do we stop treating that success like a fluke?

Nobody is arguing that Kentucky has Texas's historical pedigree. We don't. But historical success doesn't win football games in 2026.

And I respect that you acknowledge Texas struggled for a decade. That's exactly why I believe programs should be judged on what they're doing now, not what their name used to mean.

If Kentucky is winning because it finally has the resources, coaching, and talent to compete, that's not overachieving. That's what building a competitive football program looks like.

It would be most unwise to overlook them.
