If he had lost to both UGA and Bama this year he should have been fired.

A lot of Auburn fans were tired of losing to teams with equal/greater talent every damn time. I could see both side of the argument.

At least half of you on the rant wanted him gone. I'm not judging though...even after he righted the ship, half of our fans want Oeaux gone. If Oeaux won it all next year, we'd still have a sizable group that wanted to fire him. So, again, I'm not judging brother.

I haven't been a Gus supporter for a while. He called a great game yesterday. I'm not sure I can come to the conclusion that 1 great game proves he has made the adjustments he needs to.

I'd be happy to see him grow as a coach and be AUs coach for a while, I'll just take a wait and see approach.

I mean, there is still a chance they finish the regular season at 9-3, postseason at 9-4 or 10-3.

The win over UGA would be the only redeeming factor to an otherwise meh year so while Gus is doing much better this morning than he was a few weeks ago, he's not totally out of the woods just yet.

Zero chance?

How about we make a wager? I will bet $10 Auburn wins against your $10,000 that bammer wins.

Winner gets the pot.

Pretty certain $10 for you correct?

It's pretty simple. You are what your record says you are (Bill Parcells), and if Gus would have lost to both UGA and UA again this year he may have been fired. The rules are the same at every SEC school that's worth a shite.

I was in the minority defending Gus. Doesn't mean anything, fans are fickle, but I think the LSU game made Gus turn a corner on what he should do as a head coach. The guy has been learning on the job, and I think that was a big lesson for him.

How about you watch Auburn lose and then you can come back on here and tell me I was right?

I'll admit, I was firmly in the camp that if Gus lost to both UGA and Alabama again this year he should be fired. That would have been 0-8 in our last four seasons against our biggest rivals and that is simply not good enough at Auburn.

Yesterday was fantastic, and our best win since the 2013 season, so he clearly has earned a lot of good will back, and should not be let go this season regardless of how the rest of the season plays out, but he simply has to win against our big rivals to stay on board.
