Was coming in to say this. I think a better method would be to look at yards per play than yards per game, because the number of plays are going to go down a lot this year across the board which will cause total yards per game to decrease as well.
Yep. I'd have rather seen them shorten the play clock to balance the clock rules and also reign in the replays to shorten the games.

If we’re not any better on offense this year we may just want to give up football

Same, Brady Cook will be the QB. We are very good and deep at wr, but QB sucks

Better. I think it'd have to be a team effort to actually do worse than last year.

Worse but might average more yards.

Better for two reasons:
1) OL was bad last year and was shored up in a big way through the portal and development of a couple key young players.
2) Our QB will not be a first-year starting QB playing the whole season with a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder.

It's going to be hard to show marked improvement with the new clock rules giving underdogs incentive to take the air out of the ball.
What is the rule again?

Worse but not by much. Beck will be a step down from SB.

Should be better. QB 2nd year in system. Judkins back at RB. Two healthy legitimate TEs. Overall WR group should be good with transfers coming in.

Is there any fan base that thinks their team will be worse? It appears some people will be getting their feelings hurt

Honest Bama fans

Most "honest" Bama fans are predicting 2 or 3 losses. Which is about what they did last year.
Who else?

Clock won't stop to set the ball on 1st downs anymore except for the last two minutes of the half.

Better
Actually have a QB, best WRs that I can remember
And
Can’t get worse

Better. We return 77% of last year’s production. As crappy as the O was last year, it doesn’t make sense they they would regress. Still may not be very good, but logically they should be better.
Agreed. I think we will be better on that side of the ball. Especially with bringing in an offensive coordinator and having a lot of guys return. That being said, I am hoping that they can make some magic happen.

I'll say that Tennessee will be worse. It's hard to say by how much though. Heupel hasn't had an offense finish outside the Top 10 nationally since he's been a head coach.
Tennessee finished with the #1 Total offense and #1 Scoring Offense in the country last season. That's going to be incredibly hard to replicate. I'll say we'll drop down to a Top 10-15 unit for 23

Worse for UGA if total yards is the metric.
Lots of sitting on the ball in the second half of blowouts with the upcoming schedule.

This is what I was getting at and was going to initially say. I think a few teams may have overachieved last season. UT may be one of those but it's yet to be seen. LSU, USCe are two more, I hope I'm wrong on LSU.
To me there is only ONE team that's basically a lock to improve over lastbyear and everyone else is a crap shoot.

Does anyone think it was great? For the most part, it took the SEC exactly one game to figure it out.
Nobody thought it was great when Leach was still with us, but since then some have questioned why Arnett didn’t hire an Air Raid OC.
It had some good games but it never got to the level that Leach had it going at Tech and Wazzu. And frankly defense carried State in some of its biggest wins the last few years, particularly Ole Miss and the bowl game last year. When the Air Raid sputtered, it was ugly.
