It's not a matter of having different political beliefs as I've come to believe both sides are scum. It's a matter of them cramming their agenda down my throat when all I wanted to do was watch sports.

I like to believe I still have some integrity left, and I refuse to give them ratings for the woke bullshite.

Some colleges have dipped their toes in the water. Hopefully they don't go full retard.
This is what has always fascinated me about CFB fans who are vocal and always complaining about all this stuff.

The ugly truth is probably 80% of the scholarship dudes on their own team are "woke". Most of them have the good sense to keep quiet about at it. Yet fans who constantly harp on wokeness... worship these guys for what they can do on the field... despite that fact.

I guess it is one of those "don't ask don't tell" type of things.

I fear for college football. The speed at which this greed has destroyed conferences and rivalries is startling. It's only the beginning of this complete mismanagement of the sport, so it could easily get to the point of diminishing returns and I lose interest entirely.

I quit the NFL about 20 years ago for following reasons:

1. Rosters full of mercenaries all about themselves.

2. Teams in cities I don't live near, don't care about and in a few cases have never visited.

College football no longer exists.

College football is now full of mercenaries who play only for themselves.

It's like low-quality NFL only everbody is unrestricted free agent and no salary cap.

Traditions and rivalries thrown out for sake of $$$$.

I already skip a whole lot of "college" football.

The more NFL-ized it becomes, the less I will watch.

College football is dead, but the body is still warm enough for lots of folks to not notice just yet.

I can't say I won't "ever" watch, but it's already pretty much happened for me. I've gone from watching every single game I possibly could during a season (dozens? more than 100?) to watching a little over half of the Arkansas games plus maybe 5 to 10 "big" games per year. So, my consumption has already decreased by about 90%. Been that way for a good 5 years now, so I don't see it changing.

I didn't watch last year, won't watch this year either. Not even the SECCG or playoffs.

I listen to games on radio and then watch highlights later on youtube/social media. I did watch the games on CBS for free, but won't have that next year.

I quit paying for live TV. I was only paying for it in the fall for college football, but last year I didn't even do that.

Not giving Disney/ESPN a single penny. And since I grew up listening to most football games on the radio anyway, it's kind of takes me back. I could steal/stream for free, but that's against my morals.

And to be honest, the only reason I even came back to this forum at all to even discuss the sport again is because Saban retired and DeBoer was hired. I'm interesting in seeing how the transition works out etc. Plus I wanted to watch fans of other teams say stupid shite about it.

10 years ago I watched colllege football all day on Saturdays and did that basically since the mid 90s. Then during the week I would even go back and watch other games that I missed. I watched any Thursday and Friday night games, even when it was just 2 scrub G5 teams.

Now I only listen and pay attention to Alabama and that's it.

About 90% of my interest in the sport has already been destroyed.

Exactly what I do, and for the same reasons!

They've destroyed what made college football special.

It's much worse now than the NFL is. Chiefs fans aren't sitting around watching Mahomes shop his services to the highest bidder for the 2024 season.

I just assume every kid on the team doesn't actually care one bit about the school they represent.
Good assumption. Recruiting is essentially bidding on auctioned 17 year olds.

Not completely sure what the point of no return looks like, but it is getting close.

Only if Tennessee somehow got the death penalty. If I can still watch through Derek Dooley, Butch Jones, and Jeremy Pruitt back to back to back (while our rivals win nattys) I can still watch through all of this.

Honestly, one of the few remaining things that have kept me in it is finding the Rant. I love this shitshow and since its reason for being is college football, I’ll probably keep the game in mind if only to enjoy the magnificent disaster this place is.
Thanks for posting this.

The Rant has kept me interested in all college sports honestly. As dysfunctional as this place is, it's a departure from a heavy workload with the monotony of sitting at a desk all day. tRant serves its purpose and keeps me interested in sports for the most part. I also know where to go for any breaking news.

To the end ~ Thanks for your service, Chicken.

The large number of commercials has just about ruined it for me. I probably only watch 25% of what I once did.

Meh. I find it mildly annoying but I found the pink crap the NFL used to wear in October mildly annoying too.

Then in fact, you have seen actual footage of the LSU-Florida shoe throwing incident.

Or did you want to see actual filmstrip?

My point is - I don’t watch ESPN highlights. I don’t check scores. I don’t watch a single game unless my team is playing.

I don’t care about the sport, the conference success, or the pageantry. I don’t follow recruiting or transfer portal (outside of discussions on this forum).

In fact, if Tiger droppings was shut down - I would not replace it with another sports forum.

I care about Auburn games.

My weekends are already busy with kids and their activities but I use to try to make the schedule work to watch games. Now I just record if not around and even find myself only watching if a big game. Outside of UA I no longer have interest in watching games unless with friends. With the direction the game is going my may lessen as well.

I have no issue with players getting money but the system we are currently in is complete chaos that needs regulations. But programs now are trying to use the Wayne Huizenga approach to win a NC and it create very little excitement for me. To each his own I guess.

I didn’t watch much when Ole Miss had Matt Luke at the helm. So, yeah, Ole Miss hiring a bad coach.

Due to a combination of my age and the monumental changes we’ve seen the last 10-20 years, I’m not as avid or obsessed as I used to be.

I would follow recruiting religiously and watch the Bama Fax Girl Cam

on signing day as the LOIs came in, waited for the inevitable in-state 5-star flip and the damnable school gymnasium hat swaps. It was great entertainment.

Bring back Fax Girl and I might tune in again.

As for games, I’ll still watch I’m sure but it’ll never be the same.

I already watch a fraction of what I used to watch. Outside of the UGA game, I don't really watch other games like I used to. This started happening as commercial breaks got longer and more frequent to the point I'm watching 3 hours of commercials to see 1 hour of football. I've even gotten to the point I'll record the game and start watching at half time so I can FF the commercials and catch up to live by mid 4th quarter. It's that unwatchable.
