No. The worst part is he’s basically untouchable because he won 2 nattys and that’s enough to make him a god to the university

Yes! Prior to Danny White, Knoxville used to be the home for bad AD’s for many years. Finally getting Danny White broke that trend in Knoxville.

Didn’t he just get a raise and a 2-year extension?

Not that I’m one to judge. I’m an Aggie fan.

Nope. Not after this hire. I just think he didn't want to be the oldest person in the athletic department anymore.

Jeff Long was probably the worst I've seen. How that guy managed to convince a series of major programs to hire him will always baffle me.

Ross Bjork is Gen X Jeff Long.

If South Carolina can win a championship in any sports, then I say no. Look at some of the other schools that have had zero championships in a very long time. I wouldn't be upset with what South Carolina has accomplished so far.

Much better hire than promoting Monte Lee who was fired by your main rival.

I love how he has not just failed upward, but has failed into programs I enjoy making fun of more and more.

Ole Miss-
WAOM, lovable losers kind of athletics program prior to Keith Carter taking over.

TAMU-
Milkmen, Fake Army, 1939, etc... All the resources in the world but still losers.

Ohio State-
frick that entire university.

Except the only championships won under Tanner have been in WBB, and he didn't hire Dawn Staley.

I do not disagree with that, but it doesn't mean I like the hire.

South Carolina could so much better. I just don't see how this works out with a guy that already got burnt out on SEC baseball at a younger age

Compared to who we had a realistic shot at, this is not a bad hire at all. Especially if Monte stays on. Which looks increasingly likely.

With Tanner at the helm? Correct. With someone competent we could get so much better.

Which brings me back to the original point of this thread...
