Funny how this thread died when someone posted 47-1 at night in the last decade.
Surely someone will come in and say CFB didn't start in the last 10 years and post some stats from the 1960's or something.
I am disappoint bama posters

The game will be setteled on the field between the players...fans and stadiums don't matter...if that were the case, Bama wouldn't have waxed LSU's arse for 30 straight years in Baton Rougue....if Bama goes out there and takes care of business, LSU fans will be heading to the exits and back to their tailgates.....The USCe game got pretty quite there for awhile

Tiger fans are not addressing how the CBS contract (first pick, 2:30 kickoff) distorts the TS at night winning percentage.
LSU normally plays their best opposition in day (2:30) time games. If not for the CBS ESPN agreement last year, does anyone not think that this would be a 2:30 kick.
LSU hasn't lost many home games recently, but that 47-1 would not be so impressive if it was revised to include the most difficult games which are normally played in the day.

Forget your hypothetical. Do the eyeball test. The place is 100 times crazier at night vs day. Weird shite happens at night at that stadium.

I think we should just give it the "eyeball test" and say no, it's not a myth that it is difficult to win on a Saturday night in Tiger Stadium
It is reality

Like I told some people before the USCe game, strange things have been known to happen during night games at TS.
I watched the '79 LSU team go punch-for-punch with a USCw team that was loaded with AA & future HOF players before losing 17-12. That game shouldn't have been closer than 4 TDs.
Unless you've been in TS for both day & night games against "big" opponents, you can't appreciate the atmospheric difference.

Whose to say that we would not have won more of those "difficult" games had they been played at night? It's like the chicken and the god damn egg. It isn't a myth. If you think it is, go to the damn game on Nov. 3rd.

also a valid point
even the the 2:30 games that go a little long...and the sun sets during the 4th quarter you can just feel the difference in the stadium
its hard to explain

LSU has some ridiculous record of only 1 loss in TS at night under Miles. Is this phenomenal record due as much to the CBS contract (first pick of SEC games, 2:30 kick) as it is to the Myth of the Bayou Bengals' invincibility when playing a night game in TS?
What does it matter... We beat Bama's arse last time in TS at 2:30 kickoff.

U gumps will get arrogance pushed down your collective throats come Nov. 3. U will leave praying another miracle happens and you get voted into a MNC game. After the game mobs of Joyus LSU faithful will hunt down everyone in Crimson and curb stomp them just for kicks. Have a nice day!!!!

The 2010 team lost three games. LSU lost to Alabama at TS in 2008, a Bama team that went 12-0 in the regular season.
So if you were 1-1 vs Bama at 2:30 in the last two TS games, that is not quite as impressive as 47-1 in night games. Which is the reason for the question, (is it a myth), given that LSU normally plays their best opposition at 2:30 and has a much different record in home games in that time slot.

Definitely not a myth.
Fact: I've been to hundreds of LSU home games, and there is no comparison between the day atmosphere and night atmosphere. Tiger Stadium at night is a wild/chaotic environment, and it's no surprise that LSU is better at night historically.
TS during the day is nothing to be laughed at, still a tough place to play, but it is a much more hostile/intimidating place at night, no question about it.
Tiger Stadium is at its best for an SEC night game where LSU is the underdog.

And the LSU team lost 2 games. Pretty even matchup. I guess the homefield crowd helped the Tigers prevail.

And that LSU team lost 5 games that year. Total mismatch on paper, yet Bama pulled out an overtime victory. I guess the homfield crowd kept the Tigers in the game.

So if you were 1-1 vs Bama at 2:30 in the last two TS games, that is not quite as impressive as 47-1 in night games.
And if Nick Saban is only 3-3 against Les Miles, that's not quite as impressive as 157-6...or whatever his record at Bama is.
