Jimbo

Have you actually ever examined Jimbo's record at Florida State? He benefited from a very soft ACC schedule (mostly before the rise of Clemson as a powerhouse) and also benefited from Florida being down in the wake of Meyer leaving Gainesville.... and yet his overall resume was not all that impressive.

At FSU, Jimbo was 4-8 against Top 10 teams.... three of his four wins came by 3 points or less, so it could have been way, way worse.

If you look at his overall record against Top 25 teams, he was an even 15-15.... and ten out of those 30 opponents finished ranked #21 or lower, so it wasn't especially top heavy.

Worse yet, Jimbo lost six times to opponents that finished outside the Final Top 25.

So in summary, he was .500 against Top 25 teams and typically lost a game to an unranked opponent. In the SEC, that will get you 8-4.

Pencil me in as unimpressed.

Unfortunately, it’s a worse year than Sumlin. Assuming we are comparing their 1st years.

Welcome to the SEC, Aggie. The ONLY sure thing going right now is Saban. Absolutely anything can happen to any of the other teams over the next 5 years.

Nice job of putting forth an analytical approach, but the bunch from College Station do not respond well to facts. They have always lived in a fantasy land where they actually mattered.

LSU is the new number one in facilities...coaching, maybe not.

Coach O looked pretty darn good against us last year.

No one uses Rivals anymore. Smh. The fact they put anyone ahead of Clemson for the 2020 rankings is a joke...much less it being the corn dogs...

Right now there are 2 elite coaches in the SEC, Saban and Smart. Jimbo has to do something at A&M to be considered elite in my opinion.

I'm conflicted on the Jimbo = Elite thing. He won a championship at FSU which was all him no doubt, but he should also get credit for the disaster that followed.

Orgeron and Mullen are a tier below elite but have the potential to get there.

Mullen more than Orgeron but I'd agree. Mullen did very well at Miss. St. I need to see an OC hire be successful for Orgeron before I am a true believer. It does seem like he is learning as he goes and not sticking with the same old same old.

Gus could be fired before the season is over or win it all. There is no telling with that man and I truly believe either one is as likely as the other.

It’s really Bama and then Georgia followed by A&M , LSU and UF. Besides Saban the rest of the coaches and programs are trying to get to the top and are not proven champions like Saban at Bama .

So you just named:
Alabama
A&M
Georgia
Florida

As the 4 team playoff for the next 5-10 year
One of them is not like the others

Better put the jizz jar down man, you’re hitting it too hard.

What are you pissed about? The OP didn't even include Auburn. Besides obviously another team could emerge every year but Georgia and Alabama aren't going anywhere.

Jimbo hasn’t had a season with less than 4 losses at A&M
