Alabama had 119 yards after 2 drives. Again, that's the offenses fault? Come on.

The game plan was to prevent the big play. Bama has far to many weapons and LSU was forced to play man with safety help.

I dont know if you watched the game. Our DB's, for the most part, where glued on the WR. Bama made ridiculous catches and Tua made very accurate throws.

The idea the entire game was to limit the big quick scores and hope the offense could get some yards and kill time.

Defense did its job. Offense did not. I cannot be sliced any other way.

That's on the D, but everyone knew it would be forcing bama to DRIVE and not score. They accomplished that.

as you posted:

They did an admirable job of bending and not breaking early on and didn't allow a ton of explosive plays
or allowing Bama to put up a ton of points. I don't care if any team moves the ball between the 20s, just don't give up big plays and points.

I'd say the D did everything they could to be in the game and have a chance. Offense couldn't get going bc bama d played lights out. That's on the offense not the D

This game come down to 3 plays, in my mind.

1.LSU getting INT before half, big boost in momentum to keep it 9-0

2.LSU calling play action on the 4 yard line and getting sacked. Big momentum shift after INT.

3. Which lead to the TD before half to make it 16-0

To me, that was the complete shift that sucked the wind out of LSU.

Any narrative that doesn’t include Ala having better players is a stupid narrative. tRant is overflowing with scheme and coaching narratives. It’s all bullshite. We’re overmatched and 2-3 classes away and those classes better be off the rails good.

How people watch a football game and don’t use what’s happening on the line of scrimmage to explain everything else is amazing to me. That’s where it’s won or lost and it’ll never change. We couldn’t block 4 with max protection. There aren’t plays that work when that’s the case. We got owned there and I, for one, didn’t see that coming. Silly me.

This is what they are repeating on Tr and it will likely soon become Tr established fact.

”The LSU defense wore down...” WTF? They were “worn down”?...before the opening drive? If a defense wears down you usually see an imbalance of fourth quarter yards and points. Looks like the LSU D just got their azz busted all game long.

”The LSU offense is responsible for the LSU D ‘wearing down.’” WTF #2? When the D can’t stop a single Alabama possession, when Alabama just marches up and down the field at will and controls the ball for 35 mins, is that the Os fault?

“If Devin White had played the first half...” WTF#3: Alabama ran up and down the field regardless of White’s presence. He did have 8 tackles in the second half...but his sub had 9 tackles in the first half. He basically added nothing to the LSU D when he came on the field. Oh...his draft stock probably plummeted because he is suspect in coverage too.

LSUs front seven is dominant and the DL especially has better talent and is just as deep as Alabama.” WTF#4? On paper LSU starting front had recruiting stars as good as Alabama...but on the field it was a joke...and it was a joke last year against any team with a power run game. Recruits like Alexander from 1A schools are hard to judge coming out of high school..but safe to say, Saban has a better crystal ball forecasting development, and a better development program.

It is hilarious to watch a fake narrative becoming established fact on Tr...but we all have seen it over and over. Thanks for bringing this amusing illusion to our attention. It will be fun to watch it become set in concrete.

Well that is accurate. Yeah Alabama moved the ball at will but they got stops at times they needed them. They gave us a chance and they obviously got worn down by the end of the game.

No,not at all. LSU's defense made some plays, but overall they got dominated. I'm not pinning the loss on the defense by any means, but they didn't play well at all.

Some of the schemes were frustrating, too. On the drive where Tua got his long run, a few plays earlier Alabama had a 3rd and long. Tua lulled LSU to blitz and hit Smith over the middle for a long gain. You would have thought on Tua's run on 3rd and 8 that LSU would have been committed to keep at least two guys in the middle. Nope. One fake and it was off to the races.

I'd give LSU's defense a C.

I didn't think LSU's defense played well. They gave up almost 600 yards in total offense. Alabama ran through them like shite through a tin horn. And we could not stop them."

LSU's defense slowed Alabama down (relatively speaking), but the Tigers still gave up 29 points. That's not playing well. LSU got massacred on both lines of scrimmage.

But "we comin'."

You could have stopped here and simply said the D played well, and they did.

Despite whatever yards given up, it takes a freaking heroic effort to hold a team to 29 points (by far a season low) when the offense literally did nothing the entire game.

I could care less if the defense gave up 400, 500, 700 yards. Props top them for keeping Bama not only well under their season average despite our offense giving them zero help, but holding them to 10 points less than their worst previous season performance.

It was domination
I just don’t see LSU fans saying otherwise
I know y’all miss our shite talking but that’s Bama’s fault for crushing our souls so thoroughly

Nothing but credit to an incredible Bama team from this Tiger fan
Admit it y’all are going to be bored w nothing’s but opposing fan bases saying thank you may I have another

I get your point.

But how many possessions did Bama have since LSU kept going 3 and out. Bama's D gave Bama's O the ball more. So more time = more yards.

Which is why the tempo gameplan was stupid. It added to that. Bama is a much better team. A complete team and LSU isn't.

I dont get the need for Bamatards to act like LSU is dogshite. They obsession is weird. Yall need the streak more than we need to break it.

And y’all also know LSU D ain’t a bunch of scrubs
NFL draft and success in the league will prove that
That’s what is so impressive about this Bama LSU run
Same number of pro prospects yet such one sided results
Delpit Greedy Fulton....
Those guys are studs and yet Tua dropped video game numbers on them

No.. you do not get the point. No one said the LSU D was dogshite... what is being discussed is the growing belief that the LSU defense played well and the LSU O left them out there to be chewed up. That narrative my friend is what is dogshite, but that belief is what is being posted ad nauseum over on Tr and even in this line.

The truth is not the story line which is becoming the mantra for LSU fans. The truth is, LSU D never created a 3-out, not one. The LSU D never stopped the Alabama offense until late in drives. The LSU D was over matched, pretty much at the same level the LSU O was.

Continuing truth or dare, you gave up 600 yards because the LSU D was over matched from the start, not because of the LSU offense. 18 first downs and 300+ yards WERE IN THE FIRST HALF... long before any wearing down happened. Why you want to hang a hat on only giving up 29 points is another point of WTF? Two Ala points were lost to extra point bobbles, and Alabama could easily have hung another two touchdowns up, maybe more in the fourth Q if it had been necessary.

You can bow at the alter of "Aranda" and "DBU," and "all SEC front 7," if you want. But it is a false narrative, unfortunately typical of some LSU fans who basically live on an isolated island. I'll tell you this..if the Alabama D had performed like the LSU D, no one on any Alabama site would be patting the team on the back for it.

But be my guest to believe that the LSU D played well. It is a free country. (This is still a free country isn't it...?)

I mean, are you shitting me? For 2 weeks LSU people on this board posted ad nauseum about Alabama, and then the Monday after the game Alabama folks are talking about the game and they are obsessed? Seriously, GTFOH with that nonsense.

And nobody is saying they are dogshite. The secondary is elite, the LBs are above average. The DL is pretty much dogshite, though.
