It makes no difference who issued the statement. LSU's compliance department was cooperating with the investigation and in contact with the NCAA before it was turned over to the IARP. The IARP was created to deal with complex cases. If they had proof that 13 players were paid, why would that be considered complex?

The IARP may find proof. But, it doesn't really make sense that the NCAA would have proof of violation with 13 players and then hand over the investigation and not issue an NOA.

So far Kansas has laughed in the NCAA"s face. They mocked the NCAA at their midnight madness event. Then gave Bill Self a life time contract, or something similar to one. The folks running things at KU do not seem concerned with the NCAA>

If this was the ncaa of,..oh...2002, Will wade would be out of coaching, LSU would have received a 3 year ncaa tourney ban and not be allowed to have more than 9 players for 3 years. It still pissez me off that they tried to kill bamas program in 02 with ZERO evidence. No cash transactions, no witnesses, no phone recordings, just "it is this committee's belief that these transgressions happened" comment from Yeager. Ever since then I've wanted to see the ncaa burn....and they are.

You have been issued a NOA.......otherwise, the IARP would not be involved.

and they are..........

quote:

In a news release, the NCAA revealed that decisions in all six cases, including the one tied to the University of Kansas men’s basketball program, are expected in the next 12 months.
Memphis, North Carolina State, Arizona, LSU and Louisville also are having infractions cases reviewed by the newly formed IARP, which was created specifically to handle complex cases related to the recent FBI investigation into corruption in college basketball recruiting.

here is the bitch part of it.....

quote:

All decisions handed down by the IARP are final and are not subject to appeals the way the NCAA’s Committee on Infractions rulings are.

I didn't pay much attention to it back then. But, that's some bullshite. There has to be some burden of proof. Someone posted on Tiger Rant earlier that the NCAA bylaws state what exactly that they need to have to issue penalties. I wonder if that's been changed since then.

You do know bama had an noa and refused to acknowledge it until after NSD several years ago, right?

Just because nobody from LSU will acknowledge it doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

quote:

The NCAA says LSU men's basketball coach Will Wade either arranged for or offered "impermissible payments" to at least 11 potential recruits or others around them, according to documents obtained Wednesday by ESPN.

The documents say the NCAA's enforcement staff received information that Wade "arranged for, offered and/or provided impermissible payments, including cash payments, to at least 11 men's basketball prospective student-athletes, their family members, individuals associated with the prospects and/or nonscholastic coaches in exchange for the prospects' enrollment at LSU."

quote:

The allegations were included in the NCAA enforcement staff's request that its infractions case involving the LSU men's basketball program be adjudicated through the Independent Accountability Resolution Process, which was created to handle complex cases.

in other words..........the NCAA alleges LSU bball broke recruiting rules and have turned it over to the IARP

If LSU or any other school gets so much as a finger up the spine after they let Baylor off the hook then heads need to roll.

You mean the one where he was complaining about not being able to get a kid to accept an offer? Doesn't sound like much proof that he paid anyone to me.

The LSU men’s basketball case includes alleged violations involving “at least 13 prospective student athletes and a projected 75 individuals who may have knowledge of, and/or involvement in, the alleged violations," according to a December letter from external investigator Nicole Lamb-Hale and LSU compliance director Bo Bahnsen.

This is a good time to remind the board that Bahnsen was removed from his place in compliance and relegated to the ticket office before Saban brought LSU to a national championship, and Bahnsen was only returned to compliance after Saban went to Alabama.

So LSU will be sanctioned for allegedly paying players but now everyone, such as Nick Saban, is celebrating how much their players are getting paid. Makes sense.

No, it's just that the NCAA is fighting for their lives and doesn't have time to deal with it.
