No lsu fan but im tired of hearing about the investigation. How long does it take to investigate?

The NCAA was scheduled to complete its investigation of alleged violations within the LSU men’s basketball and football programs by July 31, but that deadline has been extended, further stretching an investigation that has lasted roughly three years.

NCAA
The LSU men’s basketball case includes alleged violations involving “at least 13 prospective student athletes and a projected 75 individuals who may have knowledge of, and/or involvement in, the alleged violations," according to a December letter from external investigator Nicole Lamb-Hale and LSU compliance director Bo Bahnsen.

The NCAA has investigated alleged recruiting violations under Wade since 2018. After Yahoo Sports published excerpts from a conversation wiretapped by the FBI between Wade and now-convicted middleman Christian Dawkins, in which Wade described a "strong-arse offer” to a recruit, Wade initially declined to meet with LSU and NCAA officials. The decision led to an indefinite suspension that lasted 37 days in 2019. Wade eventually spoke with the groups.

As part of his reinstatement, Wade forfeited $250,000 in incentives for the 2018-19 season. LSU also added a clause to Wade’s contract that allows the school to fire him with cause if it receives a notice of allegations for either a Level 1 or Level 2 violation. Wade’s attorney, Steven Thompson, could not be reached for comment

Well I mean he is clearly a cheater and him still being allowed to coach is a big reason why the NCAA is a bigger joke for than many already thought they were before “strong arse” offers came to light.

It was agreed upon that they would have the investigation wrapped up by July 31 and that an NOA would be sent within 60 days. The IARP pushed that back and the latest word is that it may be 8 more months. They either can't find anything concrete or they're continuing to find more stuff that's concrete.

No, it's not legal to have cash payments to buy a player's commitment.

Why on earth would you expect a decision already?

5 years from date of allegation is when you start thinking a decision may be impending.

Because the IARP said that there would be one by now.

I believe that LSU is the only school to be referred to the IARP that hasn't received an NOA too.

I may be reading it wrong, but that tells me violations have been found.

Reads more like someone said that the players were involved but there's no proof that they were.

They aren't skating on this.

In a news release, the NCAA revealed that decisions in all six cases, including the one tied to the University of Kansas men’s basketball program, are expected in the next 12 months.

Memphis, North Carolina State, Arizona, LSU and Louisville also are having infractions cases reviewed by the newly formed IARP, which was created specifically to handle complex cases related to the recent FBI investigation into corruption in college basketball recruiting.

KU’s case includes allegations of five Level I violations, a charge of head coach responsibility and a tag of lack of institutional control.

There's really no other way to read it. If they had that proof, why would they hand it off to the IARP? Why wouldn't they just issue an NOA if they had proof of payment to 13 players? All of the other schools got an NOA.

Did you not see who issued that statement?

It was nobody from the NCAA. It was from the firm LSU hired to do an internal investigation and by your AD.
