Conference Championships don’t factor this year so sitting there at 11-1 could be good enough for a bye. I think it’s gonna be two SEC and Big Ten teams

I don't. I think politics says that all the conference champs end up with a bye if reasonable. ACC excluded due to the entire league laying a turd

I would say no, since they’ll lose to Bama. At that time they would be the worst two loss team.

1) tell me where this thread is about the playoffs? The OP asked if it's better for A&M to lose this game. Not specific to playoffs. So excuse me for taking the SECCG in consideration. 2) Let's stick to your playoff shite. You're saying R1) Tulane or whatever R2) Georgia R3) Ohio St (in semi final) R4) Final Is a better option than Oregon Indiana Ohio State (in final) Lol
You conveniently forgot to add in UGA/Bama instead of Tulane as a post season game. I’m sure it’s far less risky to play UGA/Bama than Tulane when it comes to injuries and momentum

It doesn’t take a genius to realize that 11 wins is already three more wins than eight and four. So that’s how Aggie’s feel. But as competitors, we want to win as much as possible.
So you’re saying you’ll compare to 8-4 and feel good?
Don’t take this the wrong way, but that definitely is little brother thinking. UTx would never think like that (nor UGA, Bama, or even LSU…maybe AU and Ole Miss would…although Ole Miss would still be pissed about losing to MSU).

Are you assuming that simply making the SECCG guarantees a bye in the playoffs?

Anyway I think your take is retarded and you think mine is retarded. So we'll just leave it at that.
The one thing I'll give you is the tune up angle after a long layoff. I think there's SOME merit to that. People cite the 4 BYE teams losing in the R2 last year. But even with that, we need to remember only one of those games was an upset. Last year had the auto bye for conf champions, I think that had more to do with it than the long layoff.

Texas A&M is not going to lose. Should be a fun Friday night watching all the Longhorns in the stands.

You think a CFP game against a G5 team is worse than a CCG against the best team in the SEC. It’s ok

Or you can't read.

I won’t take it the wrong way.
Just like I won’t apologize for A&M’s season. It’s already a success.
But naturally, we want more.

The 6 seed is the best....
Get to play ACC champ at home and knock off layoff rust
Didn't risk injury in SECCG
Avoid SEC champ until semi final
Avoid Ohio State until final
If you remember every team that got the bye lost in the quarterfinals last year

Logically speaking, maybe. You would have to see the bracket and determine the best path. If you can land the G5 at home, that should be less wear and tear on your team instead of a top tier SEC opponent, but football doesn’t work that way. You play the games in front of you. You don’t take a chance on something that may not happen.
Can you imagine Saban saying, “hey - let’s just lose this game and we will be better off”. It’s not happening, unless you are in bed with the mafia. That is the only way you win by losing, and anybody that does that, throw them in jail.
Play the games, and let the chips fall where they may.

Of course, I think they try to beat Texas, but it won't hurt that bad if they lose

They also did the seeding weird last year. ASU and Boise shouldn’t have been top 4

The Conference Championship games are going to have to be formally integrated into the playoff structure like in the NFL, with the loser being eliminated. That's the only way they will remain relevant.

No. We’re better off beating whorn. Beating bama and knocking them out of the playoff. Destroying your precious big 6 club. Then taking the magic to the CFP and winning it all. While Lane clowns LSU and they end up with another bad hire and years of irrelevancy. It’s not like they will be loyal in bad seasons. Especially when they have to watch Lamar Brown and Easton Royal wear maroon
