DT Nathan Pickering just opted out for state, but says he isn’t transferring. Per a Michael Borky tweet, state is now 1 positive covid test away from cancelling the Egg Bowl

How many other players for state are basically just calling it quits for this year?

Can we get a list of all the State players that have opted out this year?

Never mind, found it. Robbie Faulk has the details.

9 offensive, 8 defensive
All since the spring

Going through the roster, it's just going to be incredibly hard for State to play these final three games.

The available scholarship player number after injuries/opt out/transfers is 61 and that's without knowing how many players have COVID or contact traced currently.

No, I made the point that ppl leaving who didn't fit the system or who were beat out by younger players was expected. Leach even said "Expect more" when they first started the season.
