What I remember about Lloyd Carr is during the 90s it seemed like Ohio Sate was preseason No 1 several times and would have a good to great season and then lose to Michigan. Am I not remembering that right?

Nope 2005 Ryan Perrilloux so say first win Les Miles ever has at LSU. Gets kicked off the team season after winning SEC CG MVP with no capable back up. Single handily starts downward spiral at the QB position at LSU.

He commits to Texas, LSU has shot at Tim Tebow going into 2006 class Perrilloux flips to LSU Tebow goes to Florida McCoy goes to Texas. And the history is made from there.

Perrilloux gone Tebow and McCoy go on to be winners.

how many times did Miles lose 3+ games at LSU? Lloyd Carr wishes he was “miles-esque”

Shula would have found a way to frick Tebow. Otherwise Saban replaces Meyer at UF

Meyer would not have had heart problems and quit at Florida if not for Saban at Alabama.

If Saban doesn’t go to Bama, January 9, 2012 never happens and LSU doesn’t end up an completely broken team and fanbase. There’s your third.

It’s not just Saban. It Saban plus the University of Alabama that is an effective team. He tells them what he wants and they give it to him. Which means they have the funding to give him what he needs and smart enough to stay out of the way. With past national championship success, it’s also a much easier sell for recruiting.

Think of it this way: if Saban went to Illinois, would he have won as many championships? Maryland? Kansas? Cal?
