If SMU will pay as much money as Arkansas it's a better job especially if one prefers the DFW over northwest Arkansas. Not to mention not everyone wants to be in the SEC especially if the money and financial support is equal.

It’s not disclosed how much he makes because they don’t have to report it, but I’m sure it’s competitive with other coaches. If a coach is happy and rich where they are what’s the incentive to leave on your own?

If he isn’t successful here in short order he’ll be on the so called fan’s chopping block and he and his family would be miserable. He should stay put.

Arkansas hired a search committee of former players in different sports to find a coach...right after the AD was hired.

Malzahn was flirting with Arkansas on purpose and they took the bait. Malzahn was still bitter about his rejection years ago and led Arkansas on a wild goose chase. He wanted revenge and helped sabotage the coaching search, got Auburn to get himself a raise. Supposedly told Arkansas to hire Morris.

The roster wasn't bad enough that he should have lost to North Texas, Colorado State, San Jose State and Western Kentucky. Still wasn't bad enough to go 0-16 in the SEC.

One has to wonder if what he did was planned ahead of time. Big checks, tank the team and collect buyout. Did his family ever even go to his Fayetteville mansion? He had a heck of a plan and it had nothing to do with winning games.

When Morris was hired, the Bert players didn't buy in probably because they sensed he was a fraud. He didn't want to listen to what they had to say and make things worse made players like Ricky Stromberg lose weight well below SEC size. This is why in Sam's first year made his players hit the gym and gain more muscle.

The only players that played hard for him was his players or freshmen that he brought in.

If you want to see protest games, go watch the North Texas and Western Kentucky games where you clearly see player frustration with Morris.

Morris had no intentions of success here and was more interested in taking a helicopter to go watch his son play football on Friday nights. He was very delusional and believed his plans would work even if it didn't make any logical sense and would stick with it to his eventual firing.

Does SMU still have long money after buying into Big 12 with no rights for a HC and team that will try to get poached by larger schools.

Because if they still have long money than he would have a good roll at the dice every year to contend for that playoff berth

He’d be a safe, but boring, hire.

Lashlee benching someone that passed for 28 TDs and 6 interceptions for him last year is interesting.

Supposedly it's because the OL is so bad, but why put the captain C on both QBs?

We all know when you have two QBs you have none.

Watching his team tonight it looks familiar. He’d fit right in with our mediocrity up to this point.

He’d last a couple of years I reckon…

Sure why not? I've never seen someone undeserving as much as Lashlee just getting every opportunity to coach at every level.

He must have porn of Malzahn who has porn of the powers that be.
