Rev share has a hard cap (approx $20.5 mil). Think of it like an NFL salary cap. Of course in college there is still separate NIL money being thrown around. But Ole Miss guaranteed Prince some rev share money. In order for LSU (or anyone else) to break that contact they owe Ole Miss that amount of rev share money. So, in this scenario, I've heard that LSU owes OM $500-700k of it's rev share amount.
The potential issue arises if LSU has already divided out their entire rev share amount - there would not be any left to pay OM and break this contact.

That 20 mill rev share is for ALL sports. Most teams allow around 75% for football. That breaks down to about 15 mill. Why does any money to om have to be REV share? Why would they care? Player damn sure don't care where his benjamins come from.
Take this to the bank. LSU knows how this works better than you and I. If they still pursuing him. They got the money issue covered. NO problem.

Because that's how Ole Miss paid the bonus and that's how the contract is written.
