I’d say the mayor of Starkville is Hugh Freeze. Can you name an individual who citizens of Starkville have spent more time concerned with or thinking about?
Jokes aside, I hope altmyer gets a shot but I have no doubt a transfer will be brought in. They wanted Gabriel but I have a feeling we get someone not in the portal yet.

Gabriel was only in play due to Lebby, his old OC back at UCF. Cameron Ward was never going to be a priority. He put some feelers out to Nix. None of that says he's trying very hard.
As someone said on the OM board, I could see them trying to hire Korn from Coastal and getting Grayson McCall to transfer. Not saying he's even talked to either, but would be a positive step up for both.

To hear you all tell it, Kiffin purposefully didn't try to sign many top high players because he was gonna pick and choose the 5* cream of the portal crop to perfectly fill all of his needs. That strategy isn't working out so well, so far

Wasn't Sims a running back at one time? And I agree. What he did with Sims was miraculous. I don't doubt Kiffin's QB coaching skills. And yes, Altmyer comes from a good family.

It is interesting that Luke’s Dad is one of State’s orthopedic doctors. A bit of a surprise that he was not recruited/signed by State but we seem to be in good shape at the QB position.
They are a good family and I wish him the best in every game except one each year he starts.

Given Lane appears to be able to get pretty much anyone to play over their head at QB I’d go with whoever he has over Bo.

Luke Altmyer will be the man at qb for LK'S 3rd edition.. might be better than Corral.

How many people even know where Jake Mangum is now days? Baseball will never be as big as football and you know it. AJ was a pro bowler in his 2nd year. I know the Mangum family and they are some of the best people you’d ever meet. Are we talking Starkville natives? If so Mangum is disqualified. Milons is the best from Starkville and went to Bama. Even then he left sometime around 98.

Jake is a tried and true Pearl kid. Luckily his family could afford him to go to Jackson Prep. Rankin County isn’t so bad other than Pearl. As the great Bobby Hall quoted “trailer park capital of the world”

Lane turned Blake Sims into a competent QB in 2014. I’m sure they’ll be good enough to win some games without a transfer QB.
