True but the three of Gus’s four vaunted offenses in his career had legendary talent at the QB position. His fourth was carried by Kerryon who nearly set a record for yards after contact.

I don't think he was underappreciated at all.

He did a heck of a job all around.

Blake Sims threw for almost 450 yards against Florida in 14, still was a shite passer.

Some days QB are just on fire.

We had nothing for the guy the two times we played him.

So my answer is yes.

We must have different definitions.

That more closely relates to guys like Kiehl Frazier in my mind.

Chris Leak won a national title and set a few records at UF to no fan fare at all.

He has to easily be on this list.

Either him, Blake Sims or Jake Coker.

His English speaking skills certainly weren’t under appreciated.

Only two QBs. Marshall was the quarterback in 2014.

I was at that game. Everyone was puzzled by Gus’s play calling. It was just strange in the first half.

I think it has been more the evolution of defensive players. Faster leaner players on defense are now able to catch up with Gus's speed/space based system. The HUNH would exhaust players of the past and would slowly grind down the defense. Defenses adapted and Gus hasn't.

Marshall might have thrown 5 passes that day.

7. But he ran for 214. I think he threw most of those in the 1st half too.

Thank goodness Richt convinced him to play db at UGA instead of qb at GT. He could have helped put the Yellow Jackets on a whole new level.

This. Auburn was at their best when they really committed to the run and only took 13-15 pass attempts per game. Honestly not sure why Gus has gone away from that, but I'm glad.
For too many years Gus hasn't been able to recruit top star oline talent and it's hampered his ability to put his signature running attack on the field. Gus is stubborn to a fault with his offensive scheme and play calling.
