I hate it when Aggy uses the wars as an excuse. You were a military school, it's not like some unexpected phenomenon that your students went to go fight. That's why they went to Aggy in the first place.

Lsu fans could use the war thing as well...

But we don't, because it's stupid.

1) I don't use the wars as a crutch
2) no LSU couldn't. They weren't an all male Sr military academy. Even our players were in the corps

Okay, Aggies, get ready to hang your heads in shame. You were nothing, nothing, I tell you, until the arrival of Bear and John David Crow.
Johnny Football is the best quarterback in the country, likely to go in first five picks. But y'all already had the taste in your mouths of success. put there by Bear and John David Crow.
The 12th Man is pretty damned big too.

A&M missed on many chances to achieve elite status during Slocum era - he is revered at A&M but in reality he beat up on teams he was more talented exclusively. He inherited the recruiting momentum from Sherill and won swc titles (yea) - but always lost to equally talented teams.
BUT - that being said A&M is I believe is the 18th winningest program in college football history. So A&M has been relevant a long time - but would lose the biggie. A&M has always been a sleeping giant waiting for real leadership. We have it. May be a drop after JFF - but the new stadium is going to be best in SEC and best in Texas. A&M will once again share texas recruits with UT and OU will suffer.
A&M is waking up guys. and will be hell to deal with.
and btw - to answer thread title - having a fresh win the heisman and brake single all time SEC QB records is a pretty big deal. Couple of TDs away from winning everything possible to win in a season. Thats pretty good.

OU can out recruit UTx in Texas. OU is a more elite program than Texas is. Bob has won 8 B12 titles in the time Mack has won just 2
I think the Texas talent is just going to be spread out, Texas, A&M, Baylor, OU, oSu, Arkansas, Bama and LSU will all get 4* recruits from Texas yearly.
But A&M will not just be recruiting in-state. We'll be fine recruiting.

I think Texas will be back. They recruit too good. They always will. I really think many kids jumping to OU will stay now and go to A&M. See this years DL legacy pull. I think that will be the single biggest shift in power over next few years. OU Im sure will be fine - but will have to spread recruiting area.
Think of all the monster Texas kids that went to OU its sick. I bet we would get Peterson if he was sr now.

Oh how the SEC WEST teams dream of having UT as their permanent opponent. Basically your ineptness launches dynasties.
Think about that. Tennessee sucking so bad has paved the road to a Bama dynasty. Tennessee is the reason the Brass of the SEC are arguing about the unfairness of the permanent opponents. Because yall suck so bad for so long. You are the gimmie.
Great job guys.
