LSU & Florida have had a nice spicy series for the past 15 years. A lot of our fans enjoy that game and it gets a lot of attention. Ole Miss still gets some attention, especially from older fans. Auburn gets attention as well.
A&M is sort of like Arky was, sorta forced on us. But, unlike Arky, it’s a bit more natural, because of closer proximity & Houston having lots of A&M alumni as well as LSU.
I agree with this. lsu doesn't have a rivalry but, they despise Nick Saban.
lsu's rivalry is with Saban because he left their favorite NFL team, the Dolphins. They feel like he did the Dolphins dirty by not coaching there the rest of his life and they have never forgiven him.
Alabama fans, except maybe on this board, don't really think much about lsu. They know they exist now, because when Saban was there they were good and Miles did pretty good too and now with their relative success under Oregon.
But, you have to understand, for so many years, lsu was Alabama's easy victory homecoming game.
The imagined rivalry is mostly all in lsu's corner, concerning Alabama. They have a rivalry with a team and fanbase that, for the greater part, doesn't reciprocate the imagined rivalry.
Think about it. Before Saban left lsu fans favorite NFL team, they didn't have a "rivalry" with Alabama. It still isn't a rivalry. It's an extremely one sided case of jilted lover syndrome. lsu fans loved Saban and he betrayed them by leaving the Dophins and they can't and will not forgive him.
I see lsu fans as the crazy bitch that, 12 years later, is still raging and calling up her ex-husband talking about their life together. The husband, meanwhile, hasn't given her a second thought in the last decade. But, in the crazy bitch's mind, things are really involved and her whole world revolves around the ex-husband who has already re-married and created another life.
He doesn't know she is around until she calls him and rants. It's all a one-sided thing. That is the modern day lsu fan.

Everybody but us has tried to make it a rivalry. TV, SEC, talking heads, A & M...... I think it was more of a rivalry in the 60s and 70s than now. Maybe 80s.
The screwing we took last year caused all the uproar this year with us having to wait a year to set things back in order.

You know how lsu feels about A&M as far as a rivalry goes? Well, that is how the great majority of Bama fans not on SEC Rant feel about lsu.
