You should tell this to all of the people who get paid to know sports. They don’t seem to agree with you but hey I’m sure they’re wrong. Hahahahahaha

Saban made it appear much better than reality, which is why he’s GOAT since Coach Bryant passed.

Well, before Saban came to the SEC to coach LSU they were not in any top 5 list even with their advantage of being the only p4 in LA and before going to Bama they were a bit of a mess.

That true, because before Saban came to the SEC Bama and LSU were not in these top 5 lists.

One out of two is 50% and failing. Perhaps crack an SEC history book, if such things still exist.

Hell, yes, LSU is a top five job. More south than Georgia is. Also, it’s not possible to have a list of 10 schools and not include Oklahoma. How the hell do you not have a blue blood as a top 10 job?

Alabama was the first “blue blood” from the South.

You are probably under 40 to be so ill informed.

Because they all basically repeat the same scripts.

Personally have no idea how a job can rank as it probably differs from coach to coach and has a lot to do with time. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. I have no clue.

But if it's so great, why have your lasts 2 coaches been Coach O and Brian Kelly? Les Miles was a .500 Big12 coach while we are at it.

I'm not speaking historically. I thought we were discussing top 5 jobs.

These top job lists change, right.

I was talking about pre-Saban. Highly doubt Bama was considered a top 5 job at that time but maybe we are talking about 2 different things.
My bad...carry on.

Saban is why LSU football is relevant. Ask any LSU fan over 40. He changed the entire mindset for their program.

Alabama was definitely in the shitter when Saban was hired, but had won over many decades with multiple coaches.

Sabam probably doesn’t have near the success at BAMA without the bullsit NC2A sanctions that killed the program prior to his arrival. Built a roster of straight killers in 2 recruiting cycles.

No, it isn’t. BR is quite frankly a shite hole of a town. If they fire you they try everything possible to get out of the contract. The school is nearly bankrupt. And it is in LA.

On the other hand, the residents of LA revere the school for some unfathomable reason

Definitely agree on that.
I'm over 40 and remember LSU pre-Saban.

lol at Aggie criticizing LSU for firing coaches - yes - only LSU does it - Texas A&M would never change coaches on the regular…

I think USCw is easily replaced by LSU now. USC was a great location, big State with a ton of 5 and 4 stars and the premium brand..but with NIL...they are not much now.

It definitely looks like one of the best retirement programs in the country. Sign a sweet azz contract, go there win a few games, get an extension, then piss it away to get fired and take a multimillion dollar payout so I could sit on the beach and count my dollars. Sign me up! I can talk cajun and don't look shabby in a purple shirt!
