The “Calipari to UCLA” thread got me to thinking.

I vote a hard yes (re: Kentucky).
Recruiting there would be like luring surfers to U of Hawaii.
They’ve got more NBA players than any other school.
And there’s all that bourbon.

Which programs do you rank as the top five hoops jobs?

Hell no.

Off the top of my head I would say Duke, UNC, UCLA, LSU, and Texas.

Kentucky is probably top 15 though.

It's prob tops I agree.

I guess you'd add in Duke and NC too under the assumption that K and Williams won't be there another forever.

Don't know who'd round out the top 5.

Interesting that you’d put UTex above schools like Arizona, Duke, Louisville, Gonzaga, Indiana, and UConn.
I’d probably even put Memphis and Florida higher.
But I’m admittedly biased.

See you just named the blue blood schools.

I'm factoring in location, brand, fanbase, etc.,

Please respect my opinion.

What’s interesting in these perception rankings is how little history Duke has prior to Coach K.

The brand, support and interest are certainly there, but how much is just one coach elevating a school ala Wooden and UCLA?

I’d argue the top tier is:
UNC
UK
Duke
Kansas

Ranking just depends on your personal metrics.
