You obviously have an opinion. One of an absolute fool who should get off his mom’s cellphone. I do not respect you, can you respect that?

Off the top of my head I would say Duke, UNC, UCLA, LSU, and Texas.

I thought LSU fans thought the AD/Prez didn't support their coaches

Are LSU fans finally coming around to the fact that suspending Will Wade was the right move?

Duke, UNC, Ky, Kan..in a league of their own.

Calicheati isnt going to UCLA, and even though he turned down Ky once or twice..

He's had to vacate two Final Fours and swim a river of sh!t to arrive at an untouchable program..

Ky is only bidding against itself with raises..he's going nowhere until he retires.

What’s interesting in these perception rankings is how little history Duke has prior to Coach K.

Yeah, but man he’s been there forever. And has enough of a pedigree of former players/coaches that it could be sustained.

Kentucky
Kansas
UNC

In any order depending on the timing and circumstances. The 3 best historical programs and the only 3 with national championships with more than 2 coaches.

When K eventually retires Duke will keep it in "The Brotherhood" which will severely limit their hiring pool.

The AD/Prez are morons. No one doubts that.

The people in those positions change. In this discussion every AD/prez is a neutral being who does his job fine.

Texas is not an elite job. I have no idea why people always throw them in there in basketball. Barnes is basically the entirety of their modern history.

Take away the 1930s-1940s and their history goes

Final Four : 1 (03) (1 under Barnes)
Elite Eight : 4 (90, 03, 06, 08) (3 under Barnes)
Sweet 16 : 10 (5 under Barnes)
NCAAT : 31 (17 under Barnes)

They are nowhere near an elite program. They are basically Missouri if Missouri finally cracked their way into a Final Four.

I think a lot of fans forget just how old Coach K is because he doesn't look it. Several decades of sustained success should see them through as long as they don't make a bad hire when he retires and I doubt they will. Basketball is too much a part of the Duke brand for them to just fade away after.

Which programs do you rank as the top five hoops jobs?

Duke and UNC are 100% above Kentucky.

More prestigious schools, better programs, better basketball conference.

I agree with you, but i think the inclusion of TEXAS by some posters was to rile up aggy.

Just look at your upvotes; the fake military brigade will express their appreciation of their Alabama overlords defending them.

See all that is history. I am looking at what jobs have all the tools to make a coaching job easy (Location, brand, money, fans, facilities)

- Austin is cool
- Lots of money/support
- Massive fanbase
- Biggest brand in college sports
- Good facilities

Are they historically a basketball power? No.

Do they have everything there to be one? Yes.

Saying Texas isn't an elite basketball program has nothing to do with A&M. Sorry if that bothers you, I figured you guys were pretty honest with yourselves about what you are.

Still a really good program with all the tools, but mentioning it with UCLA, Kentucky, Carolina and Kansas is laughable.
