If not Vandy then probably some SEC team that lost to unranked FSU.
2 Ohio State teams have won national titles after losing to unranked teams in the regular season. At home. In the last 10 years.
But feel free to continue this way.

Their schedule last year really prepared them for a playoff run.
This one isn't preparing them.
I think they lose in the playoffs while having the most talented roster.

Horns are currently ranked 22 in AP poll and 18 in the coaches
Where are you getting 11?
Where are you getting 11?

Texas' defense is currently 12th in the country.
Outside of Ohio State, the only team that you've played with a offensive pulse is Florida....and they hung 29 on you and won.

SP+ (and no, I don’t think they are currently the 11th best team in the country, but FEI isn’t out yet and it required a 1-136 ranking system)

I'm not Texas or a Texas fan.
They have the 12th best defense in the country including that game.
I'm not sure they will end the season with the 12th best defense, but its probably not going to go way down from that. They have some legit talent on that side of the ball.

It's the Texas defense that keeps them relevant. It's a top5 defense, but their offense likely isn't even top25.

It was week 1, in a defensive slugfest with a first time starter at QB and a new defensive coordinator in his first game and a new offensive coordinator in his first game.
Texas' defense is currently 12th in the country.
So you're saying teams in the current week arent the same team as they were in week 1? So does that just apply to Ohio St?

With the OL talent, WRs, and RBs they have its wild that its as bad as it is.
They should be able to dumb it way down to basic spread concepts and beat most teams and be statistically productive even with Arch's issues.

Where have I implied that this just applies to Ohio State?
I think Bama is clearly the second best team in the country (possibly the best) despite their week 1 showing.

Tell you what, you tell me which SEC team has a better chance of beating Ohio State than Alabama this year?

I don't have an issue with saying Alabama is the 2nd best (or even the best) team in the country right now.
I thought saying "they are peaking at the right time" is silly, because its October.

The list of teams that would be 7-0 against the schedule Ohio State had played is huge
Posted on 10/20/25 at 3:15 pm to Long and Tall
that team only beat us by 7. At home.
they are not unbeatable.

There's a reason why he was known as 7 win Sark.
I know a lot of Alabama fans liked him as an OC, but I was not a fan. His offenses generate way too many negative plays, and it relies heavily on explosive plays. When you have the kind of talent Alabama had in 2020, the players make it look good.
Explosive plays are fun and awesome, but they aren't the way to win consistently IMO.
It's why "bend don't break" defenses work. You take away all explosive plays and you force the other team to drive the field. And you really just need to generate a negative play here and there and it kills the drive. Plus when you get into the red zone without all the space, it really tightens up.
I think this is what makes DeBoer good. He seems to recognize this and you can see the Alabama offense isn't really relying on explosive plays either. Bend don't break defense and big long sustained drives. I'm still adjusting to the bend don't break defenses. I want every defensive play to end in a loss and it feels like we are getting our asses kicked, but it doesn't show on the scoreboard.
Sark also recruited Milroe.

Yeah, its probably Bama.

So just to get you to go on the record, you want your team to peak in October?
