Richt's final full class was #6. His last class was in the top 5 before he got fired. Kirby was #3 last year, #1 this year.

Richt's last 5 classes at UGA were ranked: 6, 8, 12, 9 and 7. That comes out to a 5 year average of #8.4. So Richt averaged borderline top 10 classes, never sniffing the top 3 much less #1. Kirby comes along and in 2 years time has the #3 and #1 classes and has them in the natty game for the 1st time in 40 years. Pretty quick rise IMO. Enough that it has people's attention and has people talking. Maybe that's enough to draw the NCAA's attention, maybe not. We shall see.

It only caught peoples' attention because we finished #1. The quick rise doesn't have anything to do with it.

Disagree. It's the combination of both that has the chatter going.

As much as I dislike (hate) UG, I still will not accuse them of cheating. They had a great season and out worked the rest of the league into building that success into a #1 recruiting class. Just give them credit for that and don't try to justify your teams lack of success was due to them cheating.

You still aren't taking into account that all Kirby is doing is roping off Georgia while continuing to get players from areas that they have always been present in. So exactly what are they doing that is out of the norm? I mean wasn't Kirby our best recruiter when he was here? So what exactly did people think would happen when you put him in a state that is talent rich as Georgia?

How many times when Richt was the coach were almost all his main competitors hiring a new coach (UT, FSU, UF) or dumpster fires (GT) when coming off a National Championship appearance?

Is the OP really serious?? The East went to hell while Georgia brought in one of the most exciting young coaches in the game. Nothing about their class was out of the ordinary. They are just now doing what Richt should have been doing ages ago. Get a life man.

Richt averaged classes right at #8-9 his entire career at UGA, and he's known as a good recruiter. Had a stout class at Miami just last month. Kirby comes in and his first two full classes are #3 and #1. If you can't see the difference, you're as blind as a bat.

The problem for them could potentially be what brought Freeze and OM down. And that's a a rise that is impossibly quick.

LOL! Typical hick from Alabama. Probably voted for the pedophile too. There is no impossible quick rise dumbass. UGA is almost always in the top 10. That is a far cry from Ole Miss. They never saw the top 10 and suddenly are signing top 5 classes and some of the top players in their country.

A Bama fan accusing anyone of cheating is rich. Your program is so dirty it stinks, and talk about impossible quick rise. Shall I remind you of Saban's first year and what happened afterwards.

I don't think you understand the premise behind my op. Yes, they are cheating, but so are we, so is Auburn, so is LSU and TAMU. What I was saying that is that it really doesn't raise eyebrows because everyone knew that this is Georgia's true potential with all of the instate talent that they have. How did you not get that?

Yes, because he's a better recruiter.

Sam Pittman is probably the biggest difference right now IMO. In Kirby's first two full classes we've had three 5* OL, and five 4* OL. In Richt's last two full classes we had four 4* OL and a bunch of three stars.

There isn't a clear indication that he's anything but average.

ETA: It's really easy to collect 4*s at UGA and Miami.

You're a retard, as most people from Alabama are. Your words were "impossibly quick". How is going from top 10 to top 3, when you're in one of the three best states for recruiting considered impossibly quick, especially considering Smart is a better recruiter.

You want a better example of impossibly quick, here you go.

Alabama recruiting classes according to 247.

2005 - 16th ranked
2006 - 13th ranked
2007 - 12th ranked
2008 - 3rd ranked
2009 - 3rd ranked

Then in 2011, about five or six straight #1 classes.

I don't even consider that impossibly quick, but here's the moral dumbass. If you live in a glass house, you shouldn't throw stones.

UGA should be fine as long as they don't have a player admit to getting paid during his first draft day interview.

I showed you the obvious upward trend started by richt, who isn't even close to Kirby as a recruiter in terms of effort and focus. If you can't see the upward trend, you just don't understand the concept.

We don't have to cheat, Kirby relates to the kids better than Richt and way better than Saban.

We have a mountain of talent in Metro Atlanta and other kids outside of Atlanta want in.

He has made UGA cool...not hard to do. Richt was always busy trying to figure out a new way to shoot himself in the dick, Kirby just wants to win,,,,and graduate players.

It kinda feels awesome having so many fan bases shaken to their core about UGA’s future. tFear coming from blue and orange teams is great.

No, Kirby was not Bama's best recruiter. He was good, but there were several better and several just as good.

Lupoi, Cristobal, Pruitt, others, were better. Napier, Thompson, Williams, Davis, Steele, Ainsley, others, were just as good. Stoutland, Kiffin, Daboll, others, were not as good.

Kirby was a good recruiter, but not the whiz that some now portray him to be. He/UGA are doing a great job, but that's as much a function of UGA and the in state talent as it is Kirby.

IMO, it's an overstatement to say that UGA or anyone else for that matter, is cheating in the sense that they are actually buying players. Not that no one does, but it's probably not as widespread as is assumed by many on this board. Unless people know of specific cases or schemes, I wish they would lay off. I realize some fan bases are just having fun when they refer to their own program as corrupt - kind of like a fire break. But if you know of specific issues, let's hear it, otherwise it's tiring and useless.
