Is Clemson the sleaziest program in the modern title picture?

One of their championships came off of a pick play.
They’ve had roiding scandals.
Their players (and some media members) defended in-game sexual assault.
Rather than build a good defense, they rely entirely on a heavily funded sign-stealing scheme.
Their coach claims that them winning championship is “God’s will”.
Honestly, I’m not sure this will ever be topped. Their championships certainly don’t have asterisks, but I’m not sure they can be called “respectable”.

you left out the part where a mega church pays for their players

Perry Noble and the NewSpring Church is what you’re thinking about. Noble is no longer there, but the money hasn’t stopped.

I keep seeing this. What is the backstory here?

How does this compare to rape scandals and systematically stealing money from sick children?

I've never known a Dabo type who was actually a devoted Christian.

Mega churches and pick plays are certainly sleazy, but are they "stealing from sick kids" sleazy?

You also forgot the nepotism of them having the DCs kids on the team and of course herbies kids so they get good press on espn

The rape scandal is far worse, but I’m going to withhold judgement until the NCAA has a chance to attempt to resolve that.
Nothing Clemson has done threatens vacation of their championships.

Seriously???
Has Clemson murdered people (see Logan Young)? The Gumps will forever have that title.

Logan fell. He fell down a bunch of stairs. From a very high level.
It was an accident.
It was an accident.

I hate Clemson, but the answer is Penn State, simply because of the Sandusky crimes and their fanbase's defense of Joe Paterno, his staff and the administration.

Same for LSU

Unfortunately for Dabo, Pastor Noble turned out
to be a closet alcoholic, among his other
indiscretions but is trying to get back in the game
by starting a minor league business called
"Second Chance Church".

I was hoping someone would mention Pedo State.

Clemson is the Joel Osteen of college football. It truly is pathetic to baptize players in practice and build your recruiting program off of fake Christianity

This is my biggest problem with them. He's fake as shite, but he and that fanbase are meant for each other. It's a Paterno style cult of personality up there

The face of God’s salvation in upstate SC

Not sure why you bring Young's fall up the stairs into this discussion.
OP asked about the modern title picture. Tennessee hasn't been part of that for 15 years.
