He is about to end his second season with no record improvement in SEC play over his predecessor after 2 years at the helm.

If they don't improve and make a run at the tourney next year, does he survive under a new AD?

No. Minimum of 2 more years before they would consider firing him.

No, he will not be on the hot seat IMO. He had a mess to clean up. I think he is guarenteed 2 maybe 3 more years dependent on just how bad the next two are. I expect us to be much improved next year. I don't see us making the NCAAT but I do think we get an NIT bid. The following year we should make the NCAAT.

LSU basketball fan trolling State. No matter how boring Howland Ball is, it is much better then the shite show Johnny Jones has been putting on the floor. Even with the next Lebron.

No. They're winning 30 games next year, is what I was told.

Unless they just collapse next year ( 3 wins or less in SEC play) I think he is going to get his fourth year.

I'm not trolling anyone. I fully recognize the dung show that is LSU sports...especially basketball. Just a question about Howland, junior.

Howland has another 2 years easily before any decision is made. State is a much bigger rebuild job than even MSU fans gave credence to. They all thought because Howland made the tournament his 2nd year at every previous stop he'd do it at MSU too, nope. He has a good recruiting class coming in to complement the freshmen he got this year so it'll be interesting to see what he can do with some actual talent the next 2 years.

Why is him asking a question about Ben Howland a troll?

MSU has either the #1 or #2 youngest roster in the nation this year. With most of the team jumping from freshmen to sophomore's next year I expect a fairly large improvement and I did not really think anything would be accomplished this season.

He had to do a complete rebuild and he a has a good track record of doing that so no I don't think he is close to being on the hot seat.

SEC basketball is going to take a quantum leap next year with Bama, Auburn, Miss State, and Vandy all becoming a threat to USC and UF for 2nd and 3rd in the league. Big Blue is still on another level, but tier 2 in the league is about to get real interesting.

Seems like we say this every year, and either it doesnt or happens very little (or happens for a year then these teams turn back to shite). Certainly some talent has come in to these teams, but I have my doubts on all 4 (or 5 UT included) making big leaps into next season.

if LSU is mediocre at football this year is he more likely to fire for the sake of distraction or more likely to not pay attention at all to basketball?

Kentucky and Arkansas will be #1 and #2 next year in every preseason prediction for the SEC, probably Florida 3rd and everyone after that kinda bundled together, so sorta like usual.

Don't know...I do expect mediocrity from LSU football though.

I'm really interested in what you've seen from UK and UF this year to think that UK is on "another level"

I think it's his 3rd year at every stop where his programs make a big jump

Yeah I think most people expect a large leap in year 3 based on his track record.
