I did have to laugh at Brad Stevens and even trying for Scott Drew after the Kentucky search.

IU doesn't seem like a very desirable job anymore.

I would call Beard. Seems a good fit for Indiana. He coached with Knight. ???????

It’s the fans fault. They put way too much pressure on their coaches. Granted, Woodson wasn’t the answer ever.
I do think they enter a different era of NIL, Mark Cuban has watched his beloved Mavericks become a laughing stock but he still loves basketball. I think he pushes money toward Indiana when a new coach comes in.

Doesn't help that it's in Indiana.

What he’s done at OM is awesome and I personally would rather be at OM than Indiana. Indiana has more history but I think OM is a better fit for him with great university support, although Indiana does have some big boosters.

He’s certainly got the perfect douchenozzle personality for that gig.

There’s pretty solid in state talent in Indiana, not that it matters in the NIL era.
If they have booster support and the right coach the B10 is wide open.
With Izzo at retirement age think about how mediocre that conference is from a coaching standpoint. There are at least 5+ coaches in the SEC Id take over anyone up there.
Oats
Pearl
Golden
Beard
Barnes
Williams

Ole Miss definitely isn’t. Beard would listen to Indiana.

Bloomington is a really pretty town, not too far from Louisville and amid forests and rolling hills.
But I also don't think location really matters all that much. A lot of the nation views SEC towns a small, podunk, and full of rednecks but that doesn't stop the conference from churning out top 10 teams.

I actually like what Dusty May is building in Ann Arbor. Juwan Howard was such an incredibly terrible coach that Michigan's current top 20 ranking seems like a miracle.
He completely rebuilt the roster in a handful of months.

He has solid upside, but my point is he isn’t exactly a top 10 coach nationally and when you scan the list of coaches up there he’s the first guy who came to mind.
They don’t win championships because despite all that TV money they don’t hire or retain elite coaches for some reason.

Ole Miss will always be a football school.
Despite this year's success, Indiana is, and wants to be, a basketball school.

IU has really deep pockets for any NIL battle. The in state talent is still very good. You are at a basketball first school in a basketball crazed state in a major conference. I’d say really good coaches will be interested. Beard or McCollum would kill it there.

Having lived up that way, I have noticed that outside of Ohio State the Big 10 schools do not view athletic success as a necessary ingredient to University life.
Some schools like Illinois are, despite incredible resources and existing in a talent laden part of the country, totally happy with results ranging from mediocrity to failure.
