Don’t consider them a rivalry. Just a tough match up in recent history.

I simply like to pick on them because they’re an easy target and get so easily get riled up.

It's their own fault really.

Umm no.

They have won 1 game in the last 9 games or something like that.

Ole Miss has more wins in that time period than LSU.

Outside this forum, I rarely see Alabama fans talking about LSU.

Any one with an ounce of intelligence can read this board for one day and realize that Bama considers LSU a rival. For frick's sake, your posters were creating threads about LSU during the Tennessee football game, the SECCG, the CFP semifinal and National Championship game. There was as much talk from Bama posters Monday night about LSU as there was about Bama winning a national championship.

That's because LSU posters stir it up and then point at Alabama posters and say, "you're infatuated with LSU".

Having said that, I've always acknowledged LSU as a rival. They were 3rd until the 2000s, then LSU became the only program in the SEC and sometimes the only one in the country who could match up with Alabama physically. Even though Bama dominated LSU in the win column, most of the games were very close and always physical. I guarantee than any Bama fan who has any sense and a trace of honesty would acknowledge that LSU was the top rival from 2009-2016. Then they dropped off a bit til 2019. IMO, again LSU along with a UGA, a less frequent opponent, will be Alabama's primary rival for the foreseeable future.

UT is by far hated the most (Fulmer); AU is the most annoying; LSU has been and looks to be again, the major threat.

But Bama is always having to fight off someone.

20s fight off Georgia Tech
30s fight off UT
40s fight off UT, UGA, MSU early in decade
50s Bama not much of threat, just 1 SEC title, 5 losing seasons
60s took throne away from OM, fight off LSU and UT
70s fight off LSU, UT, AU, UGA
80s second fiddle to UGA early, AU late. Only 2 titles
90s second fiddle to UF, UT. Only 2 titles, 1 NC
00s second fiddle to LSU, UF. Only 1 title, 1 NC
10s fight off LSU, UGA (distant 3rd)
20s probably fight off UGA and LSU, maybe UF a little

Yes, ever since Saban stepped off the plane in T Town. Les Miles knew it, and acknowledged it saying, "now, we have a new rival in (MFing) Alabama."

Most Bama's fan Don't consider them a rival outside this board. They're hardly mentioned on other Bama sport's boards.

All teams in the SEC are rivals. NOT all rivalries are the same nor can they be the same. The barn is our instate rival. Tennessee is a rival of historic proportions. LSU has always been a unique rival of a kind since Cholly Mac in my lifetime. Since coach Saban, a natty game, and since going to divisions in 1992, a much different kind.

Again, no two rivals can be the same for any team in the SEC. But please quit trying to say we don't have rivals. We are all rivals of a kind.

So what your saying is, that it's only the other 105 years that you need to clean up?

Only on this board. 10 out of the last 11 does not equal a rivalry. Lsu fans have said this for years about UA/UT.

This.

Like said earlier, it is the "rivalry" that has mostly emerged online with trolling and ball busting back and forth.

Good storylines with Saban, GotC Pts 1/2, streaks, GoAT seasons, etc. and I've certainly met some fans on both sides IRL who act like posters here, but, for the most part, lots of respect for each other and good fans on both sides.

I like Miles, like Coach O, and thought 2019 was a great story and season to watch. I was really happy LSU won since Bama couldn't. In turn, I have never wanted ANYTHING good to happen for UTk or AU.

If its a rivalry, it is a gentleman's rivalry for the most part. Competitive for some bragging rights and pride, but not year round dislike or hate for the other team, at least IMO.

Alabama won enough games against LSU during that streak without having to pretend there were more than there actually were

No they are not.

They have an infatuation with our coach and our winning. A decade ago they were "rivals" with Auburn.

The reality is they are just obsessed and green with envy of anyone who has success

Maybe he meant that the 2020 Bama team has defeated the 2019 LSU team, so 10 out of 11.

Not necessarily replying to you just the subject.

I don't see what the big deal is. Rival or not I just want to beat em. I don't think lsu is a traditional rival. I dislike auburn and Tennessee. Lsu is normally the second best west team so its important to beat them. It doesn't really matter to me if they want us to consider them a rival. If they want to say it I'm fine with that.

Yes. It’s not a “historic” rivalry like Tenner, or an instate rivalry like Auburn, but yes. I’ve said this for years.

LSU has surpassed Tenner as our rival. Tenner is a dead program.

Not in the true sense of the word. LSU is a divisional and conference rival, the same as Ole Miss and Miss State, and thought about just as much.
