Still not an ncaa sport. It's like bass fishing titles or quidditch.
But it is an official SEC sport, so more like rowing. Same number of teams too.

True....

Not true, because that's an ncaa sport.

In the sec perhaps, but number of teams is exactly why one is an ncaa sport and the other isn't. It's 28 vs like 90.

Can you imagine if it was snowing some one may have written a slur!!! Whatever happened to that by the way?
I am pretty sure they watched video footage of who did it and memory holed it.

NCEA college equestrian is serious business. Maybe not an NCAA sport (yet) but far more competitive than club.

I wish I still lived in the South and had nothing else to do with my life than to go to a meaningless basketball game. But to each their own.

Auburn the town is great but that campus is awful and you can see it in that picture. Every building looks exactly the same and the ones that DONT look like that are from 1960s East Germany brutalist architecture school. They have one nice building and its the one they show on tv.

The sidewalk/open space outside the Arena shows you how awful the campus is?

Not spent much time on college campuses have you?

The 60's/70's were not a good period for our campus construction.

speaking of quidditch, Auburn basketball is basically a horcrux. When their soul (football team) died they latched onto the next living thing.
Auburn fans will pour everything they have into a winning program. They have a great basketball team and they support them.
My issue with Auburn fans is the whole "we love auburn not auburn football" schtick. Their basketball support was horrendous between Cliff Ellis and Pearl, which was a long time. Their baseball support doesn't hold a candle to LSU, Arkansas, or the Mississippi schools.
Basically Auburn is mid to bad at most sports, so when they do have a winner they go all out.

To qualify as an everything school you have to at least played in a bowl game.

I think if your football team was great your basketball support would take a hit, is really what I'm getting at.
There's a portion of support there because it's the only program Auburn fans can be excited about.

Not at all. Pearl's program is because of what he built, not because of other extenuating circumstances.

This is absolutely true.
But after 4 losing football seasons in a row, these students are desperate to get excited about something. They deserve to at least remember a good basketball season during their 4 years on campus.
