Bama is the SEC equivalent of the Texas Longhorns. They feel this great sense of entitlement and the urge to rule the conference. The difference though is that unlike Texas, Bama has won more than their share of championships. It just nowhere near the 2,167 national championships that they "claim."

Harvey Updyke showed the college world what AU has been putting up with the last 100 years. The ESPN movie showed that the majority of the bama fanbase consist either of arrogant elitist (9%) or the biggest rednecks in the world (90%). The one percent of the decent fans are hard to find, but they are out there.

I know people get pretty excited to play us - the fact that there are lots of guys who used to coach at LSU fuels that some. LSU's resurgence (and now Bama's) coupled with Florida's fall and UGA and Tennessee's struggles have all contributed to this.
There was a time that the top 4 teams in the East looked down an all but 1 or 2 West teams (whether that was Auburn/Bama one year, LSU/Auburn the next, etc.) - now it's flipped - LSU, Bama, Auburn and Arky now think we can mop the floor with the East - our top 4 only has conference losses to each other - even expanding that Auburn's only has the loss to Clemson, outside of the top 4 of the SEC-W.
