Point is worry about yourself. You’re worried about morals of a coach while your fanbase has none. Everyone worried about lane needs to look in the mirror and come back to reality. Hogs tried to hire him and he had plenty of issues then.

You’re gonna get nothing but deflections in here.
It’s the only legit mind blowing thing I can’t get over. I don’t blame LSU, yes LSU is a better job than Ole Miss, I don’t blame Ole Miss for saying you can’t coach through the playoffs. All of the reasons everybody gives for LSU over Ole Miss are legit and valid.
But not right now in this moment.
I don’t get, why you’d leave a team on the precipice of the playoffs, on the precipice of a potential title run, to go somewhere else.
Don’t give me the whole, he knows they wouldnt win it or that Ole Miss wasn’t gonna win it. So then you’re telling me he’s a loser who quits instead of fights? He doesn’t believe in himself enough to coach this team to a title?
Why couldn’t he just tell LSU, yes, I’ll take your job but before anything is public I’m finishing the season with Ole Miss.

Priorities and motive are naturally going to be questioned in this situation.

How often does LSU HC job come available? Maybe Lane really wanted to be there. He also did say he wanted to coach them as long as he could. There was never any timeline from LSU, only OM moving into the post season. Any other program heading into bowl season has coaches and players leaving and it’s no big deal.

Is it a desirable trait in a coach to be willing to give up on a team that has given him no reason to do so?
Kiffin said he requested that he be able to coach his team in the playoffs. The AD declined. People take other jobs they think are better opportunities. Sometimes life sucks when it comes to timing.

They have/had a chance this year…greater than his choice for a 0% chance regardless.
That’s correct. But the chance was pretty low (at least IMO) this year for them. So LSU decides to move on and then he’s back to trying again next year at a school with limited resources. Or he can go to a school with more resources and have an even better shot in future years. Idk maybe it’s backwards just how I’m seeing it. Not all playoff teams are created equal. Just because you’re in it does not mean you have a decent likely hood of winning it.

It's a tough one either way. I see both sides, but I think it would have been best to just let him finish the season out. I mean, he took almost all of the offensive coaches with him. That disrupts things and who knows if Ole Miss will get back in this position again.

You really have to question a guy willing to leave an 11-1 team about to be playing to win a national title. What's the point?
He will be able to recruit even better.
He will have more tools to win.
He will have lots more money personally and for players
Superior facilities
I mean. We all don't like it because it could be a hell of a run. Time will tell.

You also argue that Arkansas is better all time in basketball than UF.

Perhaps you’re talking to an Arkansas fan that can only remember the word “Doink!” As far as national titles go.

I mean I get what you’re saying. And would I have the balls to make that move in the situation he’s in? Probably not lol. But it’s obvious why he’d choose to make that decision for himself. Whether anyone agrees with it or not. It’s not like the opening comes around every year where he can just think again in 365 days.

In 132 years of football, not a single LSU coach has won multiple national championships at LSU.

Joke's on you pal. We've never made it to a national title game.

Because Ole Miss was the one going public with everything once Kiffin didn't immediately aign the extension?
I don't recall seeing any LSU official going public with anything about Kiffin.
