Leavitt is obviously better than Burrow, and the defense is way better too. Anything less than a Natty would be a let down, right?

Ok, I'm being facetious, but I can't tell you how many times I've seen the Texas fans react to the first game exactly the way the LSU fans are reacting to this one. There was nobody in the country who could hang with them for a half, much less a full game. They would crow for a few weeks, then OU would come along and thump them, and they all lost their collective minds trying to figure out how their NFL caliber team fell apart. It was injuries, or play calling, or any other of a million excuses.

Forgive me, but I've seen this movie too many times.

You shut your whore mouth!

And no, not better at this point. But time will tell. Hard to be better than 2019 LSU.

2019 LSU was honestly overrated, got lucky to beat 8-5 Texas and 9-4 Auburn at home

Alright lets pump the breaks. Lets talk in say 4 to 5 weeks but we just beat a mediocre team. If we are swinging with A&M and ole miss and come out on top of those then count me in.

2026 LSU is definitely better than 2019 LSU, but not better than 2025 Indiana.

Yes. Probably better than the 85’ Bears too. In short, LSU can’t lose…

Impossible to make a stance like that in one game. But I highly doubt it

I mean this defense looks better than 19 defense after one game. People forget prior to the SEC title game, the defense was seen as a liability. They just needed to be average. This 26 defense will need to be pretty good if LSU wants to achieve its goals.

Burrow is a generational talent. I have been watching LSU for 52 years and I have never seen a quarterback dominate like Burrow. His performance that year was on a level that I don’t think will be duplicated.

I just see a fanbase pretty excited to watch a much better football team take the field than we’ve had in years. But cool, keep trying to make it about something that it’s not.
